Relax with a cuppa and TV / Wi Fi then explore the famous award winning White Hart right next door. They have a gourmet menu or you can simply enjoy a drink and a chat with the friendly locals. Lots of things to do in this area of natural beauty. The history of the Brontes in Haworth or the shopping and culture of Manchester are both nice days out. The Buttery is an 150 years old weavers cottage situated in Lydgate; a small village with its famous pub and a church. There is a Co op store half a mile away. We have the stunning Dovestones Reservoir beauty spot right on our doorstep and the quaint village of Uppermill with its canal boat rides and little shops and outdoor cafes is 2 miles away. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen and help themselves to toast or cereal for breakfast. Alternatively there is a great nicely cooked breakfast available just a mile away for just £2.99 in Lees village cafe. Guests are welcome to use the shared kitchen to cook and eat at reasonable hours only assuming that they clean up after themselves . I am a friendly lady and have previously worked all over the world so it’s very nice that I can now welcome the world to me in my comfortable home. I am sociable person but equally allow and show respect for guests space and privacy . I will always attempt to be there to greet you when you arrive . For this we need to pre arrange a time of arrival please. Your room locks from the inside for your privacy. Saddleworth is a series of five villages set in an area of outstanding beauty. There are amazing countryside walks . There is Llama trekking If you book in advance and we are right on the wild rugged moors if you want more of a trek. I have lived and worked in many other countries but this house which I have owned for forty years and has stood firm in my absence, is still the home I have come back to retire to. We are right on a bus route. Busses go to the other Saddleworth Villages in one direction and to Oldham and Manchester the other. Greenfield Railway Station is a mile away. Trains to Huddersfield and Manchester. Also the fabulous Metrolink tram system runs from Oldham to many places including the city and even Manchester Airport itself. . Because it’s an old house please respect other guests and be mindful that noise travels. Also please note that the room is at the top of the house .. accessed by two enclosed sets of stairs. There are no handrails and although very safe and easy to navigate perhaps some older guests might feel uncertain.
