The Holme Valley Holmfirth is a wonderful place to visit, with lots of things to see and do. From the last of the Summer Wine Exhibition, go up the hill to see the Holmfirth Vineyard, nip into one of the many fine eateries for a bite, or local hostelries for a pint. It’s a quaint town with some lovely shops to visit, cobbled streets to meander around and people to meet. Closer to home on the edge of Netherton Village itself you'll find Hinchcliffe Farm - a multi-award winning restaurant and farm shop whose produce is to die for! Peaks, Pennines & Dales From south to north the Pennine chain starts in the area known as the Peak District. 555 square miles of the Peak District falls within the Peak District National Park which became, in 1951, Britain's first designated National Park. The Southern Pennines is a landscape of large-scale sweeping moorlands, pastures enclosed by drystone walls, and gritstone settlements contained in valleys. As part of the Pennine ridge of hills it lies between the Peak District National Park and Yorkshire Dales National Park, but has its own distinctive identity. The Cottage is within each reach of all of these areas of outstanding natural beauty.
