Timijan HH, brand new self-catering holiday home, 25 m2, 2 bedrooms for 2 adults and 2 children, 1 bathroom with a shower, a toilet and a washbasin, a fully equipped cooking area, a terrace with breath-taking views of the green surroundings, a private pool, barbecue facilities available. Complimentary WIFI, private parking on the site. Children of all ages are welcome. Pets are not allowed, but there are a few on the site - chickens and a cat. After a three-year experience of hosting guests from all over Europe in the basement of their own home, the hosts moved on and built a holiday home, brand new and shiny. It's small (25 square metres), but it boasts everything you could possibly ask for: a little kitchen with a washdisher, a washing machine, an oven and a cooker, a fridge with a little freezer; a little bathroom with a toilet, a washbasin and a shower (80x80); two bedrooms: a parents' bedroom with a double bed (160x200), a big wardrobe and a TV, a children's bedroom with a bunkbed (80x190, weight limit 70 kg per bunk); a small dining corner and an outdoor terrace with a scenic view of the green landscape all around.  The house is airconditioned and even boasts underfloor heating, which makes it perfect for long term stays all year around.  Guests can swim in the outdoor swimming pool (3.20x6.20 m), play table-tennis, go cycling or walking, relax in the yard and use barbecue facilities. There is a children's playground and the site is perfectly safe for the kids to run around, jump in the water and have fun. Private parking on the site.  Families with teenagers can borrow a tent with simple beddings for no extra charge. Setting up a tent for them will satisfy all of you: it will give your children a feeling of freedom and will enable you to have some more space in the bedroom (not to speak of your own privacy...). A real twofer! The guests have access to the swimming pool, the children's playground, the garden and the chicken house. The hosts live on the site and are happy to provide guests with practical guidance on the area. Majda is fluent in English and Italian, understands Croatian and speaks a little French We (the hosts) live upstairs and are available for any information or request. We don't have a food business registration so we don't serve meals, but we do provide all the necessary ingredients for you to make your meals. Fresh eggs are collected daily from the chickens, home-made jam and meat products as well as vinegar, home-grown wheat flour and vegetables are all available for the guests for no extra charge. A perfect location in an idyllic country setting, 3 kms from the world-known Škocjan caves, UNESCO natural world heritage site since 1986, 15 kms from the original Lipica Stud Farm, which is breeding of one of the oldest horse breeds – the Lipizzaner, and 30 kms from another world-known site – the Postojna cave. The apartment is perfectly located for exploring not only the Karst region, but the whole country of Slovenia, which is small but outstandingly varied, with breathtaking Alpine mountains, lakes, waterfalls and rivers, thick forests, historic towns and even a short Adriatic coastline - 30-min. driving distance from the sea, 50-min. from the country's charming capital, Ljubljana, an hour and ten minutes from the world-known beautiful lake of Bled with its rocky islet in the middle, 1,30 hour distance from the Soča, the »Emerald River«. The site, located 33 km from Trieste, Italy, 85 km from Slovenia's capital, Ljubljana, 65 km from Rijeka, Croatia, 175 km from Villach, Austria, is perfectly reachable by car from all directions. Having / Renting a car is a must as there is no train or bus station near the village. There is plenty of parking space in front of the house. The village of Zavrhek offers no shops or bars, but there are shops with everything you need in the nearby towns and very good restaurants, too. Please be informed that there is a tourist and promo tax to pay on arrival (preferably in cash) - totalling € 2.00 per adult per night, €1.00 per child age 7 to 18 per night. Children to age 7 are tax exempt.
