Pretty 2-bedroom cosy cottage in quiet, friendly hamlet. Built 1891 and fully restored with modern kitchen, bathroom. Wi-Fi. Parking. Up to 4 people (1 king and 1 double bedroom + sofa-bed). Lovely local pub. Close to Notley Abbey and Barn, Quainton Railway, Waddesdon Manor, Brill , Bicester Village, Oxford. Days out to Blenheim Palace, Whipsnade Zoo, Bletchley Park. Trains from Haddenham to London, Warwick, Stratford upon Avon, Birmingham. Great local cycling, walks, views and wildlife. This cottage was home to one family from 1891 to 2015. We have restored their home as sympathetically as possible to reflect the simple farm life they lived and loved. We haven't compromised modern living. There are 2 upstairs bedrooms - one king and one double both with storage and original features. Lounge with sofa-bed. The bathroom (which is upstairs) has a bath with a power shower with large head. The kitchen has an induction hob dishwasher and larder. There is no TV but there is good Wi-Fi and EE 4G coverage and you can request access to our Leisure Room (with 52" TV, Wii, treadmill, pinball, turbo cycle trainer, cross t and limited freezer space). There is a playground and multi-use games area sports facility in the village (1/2 mile). There are fabulous views over the valley and to the Chilterns. The cottage is an integral part of a friendly community, in a terrace of 4 houses (we live next door) and we love visitors! You get the whole cottage and outdoor sitting area and can request to use our Leisure Room. We live next-door and try hard to be here to welcome you. When that isn't possible we will ask our neighbour, Vicky, to stand in for us (she's great!) and most of our neighbours will help you if you have any questions. The Hundred of Ashendon Pub is just half a mile away - it is a great local pub that also serves excellent food (closed Sunday evening and all day Monday). There are some other lovely pubs in the surrounding villages with lovely walking in the area too. Rural location. Nearest station is Haddenham & Thame Parkway, with a good taxi service otherwise a car is essential. The nearest town is Thame, Oxfordshire (7 miles). Parking for one car in front of the house (on hard-standing parking bay). Additional space for a second car available on request.
