On the Southern edge of the stunning Peak District overlooking picturesque Carsington Water, Manor Cottage is a 18th century Grade 2 Listed house with oak beams and log burning fire. Cosy, spacious and comfortable it has been recently restored to a high standard. The house comfortably sleeps 8 in 4 ensuite bedrooms. The Peak District is a magical place, lots of history and spectacular scenery. Whatever you like doing - eating, walking, cycling, shopping, sightseeing - this is the perfect base. Manor Cottage is a characterful 300 year old wing of a Listed Building in Hopton village and overlooking Carsington Water. All of the 4 bedrooms are ensuite, and the lounge diner is cosy and wood beamed with a log burner. There is a farmhouse kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave as well as all the usual kitchen appliances. The accommodation comprises - Ground Floor - Farmhouse Kitchen, large oak beamed living/dining room First Floor - Double room with King sized bed (ensuite with bath and shower) and space for extra bed, further King Size bedroom that can be converted to twin 2' 6" beds ( with ensuite shower) Second Floor - Double room (ensuite with shower), Twin room (forensuite with shower) with space for additional fold up bed. Extra beds are best suited to children and available at £50 per stay. Patio and small garden with great rural views and outdoor seating and dining Outside storage space for bikes if requested. Happy to accept 1 well behaved dog. Parking for up to 3 cars. Further parking by arrangement Plenty for all ages with Carsington Water on your doorstep (walks, cycle hire, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing). Ideally placed for Chatsworth House, Peak District National Park, the lovely market towns of Wirksworth, Buxton, Ashbourne and Bakewell. Close to Matlock Bath, the Heights of Abraham, Alton Towers and the High Peak with its caves and mountains. Spectacular scenery and walks all around Dovedale, Milldale, Manifold Valley and Thor's Cave . If you like history, the museum of Arkwright's Mill at Cromford is a must. Canal walks are also a local feature, and there are plenty of great places to eat locally from quirky cafes to fine dining. The house has a small covered storage area for people that wish to bring their own bikes and ample parking for 3-4 cars. Free Wi Fi internet Access. Lovely village Gastro Pub (The Miners Arms) within walking distance. Easy off road parking for up to 3 cars. Car advised! We welcome 1 or 2 dogs by prior arrangement, but ask they be kept downstairs and stay off the furniture.
