Cosy and Comfortable - SVAR Guest House!

Our new Nordic guest house embraces simple but cosy and comfortable living for vacation or work base. It is uniquely located in a quiet residential area close to the historical city centre of Roskilde - and only a short train ride from Copenhagen. Fjord, cathedral and Viking ships are all within walking distance, and the sunny guest house terrace calls for moments of relaxation. The guest house is year-round, fully equipped and designed according to our passion for recycling and world travel. The guest house is a modern mix of Nordic design, recycling and world travel, creating the perfect base for a relaxing weekend get-away, a week of sightseeing in Roskilde, Copenhagen and the surrounding Zealand - or as temporary base when commute to work is too far. The guest house is year-round meaning that it is fully insulated and has thermo windows with integrated ventilation and adjustable locking mechanisms. The guest house also has climate friendly floor heating in all rooms - bathroom, bedroom and kitchen/dining area - and you can easily adjust the digital thermostats for the floor heating according to your preference. Hence, we can guarantee you that you will have a comfortable stay no matter the Danish weather😉 Additionally, the bathroom is an integrated part of the guest house and you access it directly from the bedroom. Both tap and shower has running hot and cold water - including thermo regulator in the shower. The kitchenette is small but fully functional and equipped with all you need for basic cooking for 4 persons such as plates, cutlery, kitchen utensils, coffee stamp jug, teapot, thermo, zinc, two induction hobs, new mini oven, new refrigerator etc. The guest house is designed to make optimal use of the natural day light and when the weather allows, the guest house terrace has sun from early morning until mid evening. We are a small family of four - mom + dad + two kids/ t(w)eens - who have lived several years in Latin America and we speak fluently English and Spanish. We welcome you to come and stay with us - either as part of your vacation or if you need a base when working away from home. We also love to guide and help you along during your stay as well as provide you with tips and tricks when it comes to sightseeing and transport according to your needs and preferences. Roskilde is a beautiful and historical city, and we live in a quiet residential area only 15 min. walk/5 min. bus ride from the historical city centre and Roskilde Cathedral - inscribed on the UNESCO world heritage list. The Vikingship Museum, the scenic Roskilde fjord as well as the city habour with cafés, restaurants, tour ferry - and the best ice cream shop🍦 - is just a recommendable 10 min. walk from our house - along the fjord/seaside. The surrounding area of Roskilde has both wonderful nature and national park to offer, including the historical open-air museum in Lejre - Land of Legends - which is great with kinds. Car/parking: We provide you with a dedicated parking spot by our house - and we also have a private EV charging station for electric cars (Clever). However, the charging of your car is not included in the guest house rental and will cost extra. Bus: Public transport is available all over Roskilde (and Denmark for that matter), and the bus for the Roskilde city centre stops a 3 min. walk from our doorstep. Train: The bus will also take you to Roskilde city train station in less than 10 min. where trains depart for Copenhagen app. every 15-20 min. The train ride to Copenhagen Central Station is only half an hour and costs app. 100kr. Travel card: Buying a travel card is by far the easiest and cheapest way to pay for public transport - and the travel card is valid for bus and train combined. However, paying single or full day tickets via app on your mobile device is also very easy and affordable. The garden is shared area - but the guest house terrace and grill facilities are yours as we have our private terrace elsewhere on the premises.
