Ash Lodge at Welhams Meadow

A BEAUTIFUL LUXURY LODGE IN THE HEART OF THE SUFFOLK COUNTRYSIDE. Step out of your tranquil lodge into unspoilt countryside and explore this unique part of the stunning Suffolk countryside. Visit the nearby historical towns of Needham Market, Lavenham and the medieval town of Bury St Edmunds. Ideal for weekend escapes or long breaks, our luxury lakeside lodges will be perfect for you. The lodge has two bedrooms. The largest has a king size bed with an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has twin beds and a separate bathroom. The living area has a TV above the fireplace, with a comfy sofa and chairs to relax in. There is strong Wi-Fi available, which you are able to switch off so you can disconnect completely. The fully fitted kitchen has everything you need to make your self-catering stay very easy and relaxing. There is an electric oven and gas hob, and also a microwave to make cooking simple. The lodge is dog friendly and we welcome up to two dogs which will not be charged for. If you would like to bring more speak to us first. Dog creches are available in the local towns. There is a utility room, perfect for muddy boots, with a washer and dryer. There are two allocated parking spaces for Ash lodge, with visitors parking too and plenty of turning space. There is a comfy patio seating area which is ideal for BBQs . Welhams Meadow is surrounded by the family farm and Chris the farmer can offer you a guided farm walk if you wish! The two lakes at Welhams Meadow are stocked with fish, carp roach and perch, if you have a fishing licence you are more than welcome to fish here. Please be aware if you have small children they will need to supervised as the lakes are not fenced off. There are lots of public footpaths on the farm, perfect for long walks. Welhams Meadow is a three acre site for you to enjoy, but we request you please respect the privacy of the guests staying in the other lodge. My husband Chris and I live 300 metres up the road at the farmhouse. So we will be available to help if there are any issues. At the other end of the village is the community-run Pub, The Punch Bowl which has a great atmosphere, especially in the evenings and weekends. Also the French chef there produces delicious food for you to enjoy! For example there are curry nights, quiz nights and vinyl evenings. Needham Market is full of character and less than a 10 minute drive away. Alder Carr Farm shop is ideal for a coffee and homemade cake, or a light lunch with a farm shop and a handful of small independent retail shops. Lavenham is stunning historical landmark in the heart of Suffolk and famous for it's architecture as it's the most complete medieval town in England. Bury St Edmunds is less than a 30 minutes drive away and has been recently voted a top destination to visit in the country by the Sunday Times! At Welhams Meadow you'll have many public footpaths on your doorstep, surrounded by fields and walking distance to two country pubs, the Punch Bowl, Battisford and the Fox at Barking, or a short drive away. It is easiest to drive to Welhams Meadow (IP14 2HF), as we are a short distance from the A14, A12 and M11. The narrow country roads nearby show you the stunning Suffolk countryside and wildlife. The closest train station is Stowmarket, which is on the main train line, Liverpool Street London to Norwich. Alternatively there is Needham Market train station. On departure day we request guest leave their lodge by 10am. On arrival day we request you check in from 4pm onwards. We may be able to be flexible on this check in time, if we have been able to get the lodge ready after the previous guests have left.
