Entrance to the Gite is via wrought iron gates which are shared with the Maison. The Gite itself stands next to, but not attached to a Grand Maison, where the owners are at hand to make you feel welcome and advise you on the local area and any questions you may have. The Gite has one double bedroom and one twin bedroom, comfortably sleeping four people. The living area is open plan, comprising of a lounge dining area. The large kitchen is modern and separate from the living space. Situated downstairs is toilet for your convenience. The bathroom is located on the first floor, having a shower, washbasin and toilet. Via gate access there is a 10 x 5 meter shared swimming pool. Limoges Airport (Bellegarde) is only 26 miles from where we are, and has frequent flights from airports across the U.K. There is also car hire available from reputable companies. The A20 motorway runs through the centre of the Haute Vienne and is only 5 miles away from Bersac Sur Rivalier, which also has good train links to Limoges and beyond. Around the village of Bersac Sur Rivalier, we are blessed with beautiful scenery, from Grand hills and a Pine forest. Perfect for walks, Trekking or Cycling at your pace with little chance of seeing anyone else. The Haute Vienne region is rich in nature and is ideal for walkers and cyclists.Composed of restful scenic landscapes, ranging from hedged farmland of the Basse-Marche to the mounts Blond and Ambazac, through the Vienne valley, the Haute-Vienne is a great destination for relaxation and nature-based tourism. A considerable architectural and artistic heritage is also offered through its Romanesque religious buildings, its fortified castles, its medieval cities and its famous porcelain tradition. Local places of interest include: Viaduc de Rocherolles built around the 1850's. Lac Saint Pardoux - The Limousin's second largest lake and caters for a wide range of activities and has three beeches and a new indoor pool. Oradour Sur Glane - A war memorial that conserves the ruins of a complete town. While driving Throughout the region you will encounter lakes, pretty villages, wildlife and chateaux.
