The holiday cottage at 6 Nidd View is all you could wish for from a village holiday rental, the perfect mix of cosy charm and traditional character with all the modern comfort and convenience of your own home. Located part way between the historic city of York and the much-loved Yorkshire towns of Harrogate, Knaresborough, Wetherby, and Boroughbridge, and just a few miles from the A1M motorway, it’s the perfect spot for exploring North Yorkshire, the Yorkshire Dales, or the North York Moors. The village of Cattal is very accessible by road or rail, with its own station on the Leeds-Harrogate-York line about a mile from the cottage. It also has an excellent public house with a reputation for great food and there are plenty of beautiful country trails to enjoy when you are ready to walk off your lunch. The cottage is set in a quiet spot just off the main street of the village, with free on-street parking. There is a lovely south-facing sun terrace at the front, looking out over the gardens to the fields beyond, absolute bliss. We also own no. 1 at the opposite end of the terrace. Available to book on Airbnb. Fully renovated in 2020, but still retaining lots of character, the cottage has a wood-burning stove, timber beams, and exposed brickwork. The front door opens into an open-plan living space, with a sitting area centred on the large traditional fireplace, then on to a modern dining kitchen with plenty of room for preparing and eating family meals, or for entertaining guests during your stay. Upstairs are two bedrooms, with one double bed and two small single beds in total, both rooms have fabulous country views. The stylish new house bathroom has a large walk-in shower. For an escape to the country, a peaceful Yorkshire holiday, or a short-term let for business or during a house move, 6 Nidd View holiday cottage is everything that you need. Lynn & Simon at Nidd View Your hosts live near to the property and are on hand if needed. The glorious Yorkshire countryside is on the doorstep, with beautiful green walks in all directions. There are excellent pubs and restaurants within easy reach of Number 6 in Cattal and neighbouring villages. The historic city of York is a short drive to the east, the equally historic market town of Knaresborough is a few miles to the west, and the fabulous spa town of Harrogate is about 20 minutes away. Cattal's railway station is a little over a mile from 6 Nidd View. Trains from York or Leeds stop approximately hourly at Cattal station. For travel by car the A1 motorway junction with the A59 is just a couple of miles away, giving fast access from North and South. From Junction 47 of the A1(M) take the A59 towards York. After 2 miles turn right at the Whixley crossroads towards Cattal. Pass the station and the Victoria pub, and after a mile turn left onto Chapel Street as you come into the village. Number 6 Nidd View is on your left, the last of the row of cottages. Whilst we welcome well behaved dogs to the cottage, they are not allowed upstairs or on the furniture downstairs, please also observe the signage around the village relating to private land and use only marked public footpaths when out walking.
