This cozy first-floor apartment is just the ticket for exploring the spectacular Yorkshire Wolds, a trip into historic York, or for experiencing the myriad of activities on offer all within an easy drive of the pretty market town of Pocklington. Fairview Apartment has lovely views of the Wolds, and has the added attraction of the owner’s farm shop, in the grounds stocking lots of Yorkshire produce, from locally-brewed ale to chutneys and cakes. There is also a café on-site serving delicious breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for a truly tasty holiday treat. The nearby Buddhist Centre at Kilnwick Percy is the perfect place to learn about meditation, or simply to enjoy a stroll; with over 40 acres of parkland, it makes a super day out. The delightful Burnby Hall Gardens are home to the biggest collection of Hardy Water Lilies to be found in a natural setting in Europe. The gardens are beautiful, with a variety of areas including a secret garden. The venue also plays host to several Sunday afternoon band concerts during the summer which is really popular. For cyclists, there is a good choice of challenging routes nearby, and with the Wolds at your feet the walking is terrific. Pocklington has its own canal which is slowly being restored however there is a towpath along its entire length of 9.5 miles. This is a wildlife haven for damselflies, dragonflies, kingfishers, and barn owls, plus there are memorable boat trips from the Melbourne Arm of the canal. Visit historic York, head up to the coast at Bridlington or Scarborough, explore The Deep in Hull or spend the day in the beautiful surroundings of the Moors or the Dales. The apartment has its own space which is easiest to reverse in to. There is a bus station in the town with regular transport to YORK and Hull. We also have a secure building if you would like to bring a bicycle.
