Traditional old stone house with a great view

It's a traditional renovated old stone house of 100 m², having two bedrooms and a big living room with an open kitchen, accommodating up to 7 guests. It has a huge yard around, with a great view towards the village of Saint George at Pelion Mountain and the sea. It's in the center of the village, providing at the same time an absolute privacy. It's perfect for vacations as it combines vacations to the mountain close to the seaside. The house is located in the center of the beautiful village ‘Agios Georgios Nilias’ and has been renovated in 2004 as a vacation house for my family. It is built at an amazing location with running water and plane trees, in a complete harmony with the natural environment, ideal for relaxing vacation. This 100 m² house is consisting of one ground floor of about 100 sq meters, with a huge stone paved courtyard and garden, offering a magnificent view to Pagasitikos Gulf and the village, under the shade of a big mulberry tree.The house rests on 1000 m² of land and it is totally independent and detached, providing ample privacy. It’s ideal for a family as it has two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other one with a bunk bed. An extra bed under the lower bunk can also accommodate another kid. The living room has two single bed-sofas in front of a fireplace and can be used as a sitting room, as well as a bedroom if required (as the sofa easily turns into a double bed) divided by long curtains and maximizing occupancy to 7 guests. There is a large open living space that incorporates an open plan fully equipped kitchen (electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, coffee maker, iron board etc.) and a dining area with a long wooden monastery dining table. A baby cot is available upon request. A cobble-stoned traditional path of about 50 m leads to the property (therefore, I strongly suggest to wear flat shoes). In 5 min walking you can reach the square of the village and the restaurants. The property is a complex of two separated renovated old stone houses that could be combined together so as to accommodate up to three more guests. The house is my own vacation house for my family, so I would be grateful if you could respect my personal stuff and decoration. Access to the whole house apart from the basement (storage room). The village is a traditional destination, offering the possibility of vacation not only for the mountain lovers but also for the sea fans. As it’s located in the heart of north-western Pelion, in an altitude of 620m, it offers a panoramic view to Pagasitikos gulf. It is located just 20 km from the city of Volos (half hour's drive). Within 15 minutes you can enjoy the beaches of Pagasitikos Gulf and in about 30-45 minutes the most lovely beaches of the Aegean sea, famous for their crystal clear waters. The area is well known for its rich vegetation, numerous spring water taps and cobble-stoned paths. In the main square, at the tavernas, you can enjoy traditional food with local wine or tsipouro under the shadow of the huge plane tree. The village is proud for staying away from mass tourist development. The mountain Pelion offers a variety of activities for the visitors, like hiking, horse back riding, mountain biking, skiing (30' access to the ski center of Chania), or one can enjoy quiet nice strolls into the village. Volos is the closest city to Agios Georgios and it has an international airport in Nea Anchialos, at about 30 kms away from the city of Volos. Charter flights are also available directly to Skiathos airport. The best way is to fly either to Thessaloniki or Athens and rent a car to drive to Agios Georgios via Volos. Taking the bus from Athens or Thessaloniki is also an option. Driving from Thessaloniki airport to Agios Georgios via Volos takes about 3 hours, and from Athens airport around 4 hours. It’s proposed that guests rent their own car to reach the beautiful beaches and visit the pittoresque villages around.
