Wheatear Cottage is situated on a beef and arable farm close to Driffield on the stunning Yorkshire Wolds. With beautiful views and lots of places to explore on foot, bike or by car, including the coastal resorts of Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey, this cottage has been renovated to a high standard and is a cosy, friendly place for short breaks or longer stays. Wheatear Cottage is a renovated former farm workers' cottage. Light and airy, decorated with gentle Farrow & Ball tones, the cottage is a blend of modern amenities and cosy comfort. Centrally heated throughout, there is also a woodburning stove for winter evenings (logs provided) The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, hob, washing machine, fridge and dishwasher. Double glass doors lead out onto the flagged patio area and walled garden. Please note there is no freezer, but it is possible to use the freezer in the main house by prior arrangement if required. The main bedroom has a generous oak-framed, king-size bed, dressing table, bedside table and chaise longue, with storage & hanging space. The second bedroom has two oak-framed single beds with storage space and bedside tables The living room is a generous space with a view out onto the walled garden. There is a TV and DVD player, with board games and DVDs provided. The bathroom facilities are downstairs, with a wet room-style walk-in shower, sink and toilet, with towels & toiletries provided. The whole cottage, which adjoins the main farmhouse, is for guests' use. There is a small, walled garden to the rear of the property. Guests are also welcome to visit the farm by arrangement, and to access various walks which run directly from the farm. Guests are welcomed on arrival and the cottage comes with tea, coffee, orange juice and continental breakfast items for use during your stay. There will usually be someone about during your stay (we are always contactable by phone) Full breakfast ingredients can be stocked by arrangement and we can also arrange for other items, including a welcome pack, so you don't have to shop immediately! Situated two miles from the market town of Driffield, the cottage is ideally placed for trips to the coast (Bridlington, Scarborough and Filey are all within half an hour) If you enjoy walking or cycling, there are many green lanes and footpaths within easy reach. Beverley and York are close by, and other attractions such as Burton Agnes Hall, Sledmere House and Castle Howard are also within easy reach. A car is recommended as the property is beyond comfortable walking distance of the local town and not on a regular bus route. Taxis can be booked from Driffield, however, and there is a train station in the town. Wheatear Cottage is situated on a working beef and arable farm, and adjacent to a B road, so there is some traffic noise (generally only noticeable when outside in the garden) There are dogs on the property but all are friendly and none are permitted access to the holiday cottage
