The the private, South facing, gardens have seating, bbq, a pizza oven, and lawn games. Dear guests, Delf View is a gentleman's residence, with a wealth of history and character. It is our family home and we have creatively renovated it, in sympathy with its heritage, for entertaining guests, and fun. We are passionate about the beautiful Georgian architecture and historic features of the house which add character and quirkiness, and we care about our carbon footprint so our heat comes from a pellet boiler, and there is an electric car charging point. Now our children are away, the house feels empty so we plan to move out for a few months each year for you to enjoy it too. We have designed every bedroom with space to get away and relax, and the communal rooms for elegant large gatherings, and lots of fun. There is fast wifi in every room; a smart TV in the drawing room, and a cinema projector in the Orangery. Please bring a laptop to use for the cinema. Our secret bar cellar is equipped with decks, and flashing lights . Logs for the fires are included and the wine cellar will be stocked with several wines for you to taste on an honesty box basis. We can also offer daytime only rentals at other times of the year. Please message us to discus, even if the calender says booked. There is plenty of on site parking and a car charging point is available for the cost of the electricity used. We, or our housekeeper will be staying nearby and will be on hand to welcome you and help out if you need us. We will be sharing your driveway. We are excited to welcome you as our guests and will be glad to provide local information and, by special arrangement, will host pizza nights for you, or arrange catering for meals, snacks or picnics. A Housekeeping service is also available by arrangement. Eyam is a picturesque village, famous for its plague story, in the heart of the Peak District National Park. There is a pub; a restaurant with takeaway; several cafes and shops as well as a great play area, and a museum all within a few minutes walk. the walking is wonderful from the doorstep with lots of great pub destinations. The garden overlooks a nature reserve with a wealth of wildlife which often spills over into our field and garden including bats, badgers, deer and buzzards. Our nearest town is Bakewell and all the tourist attractions of the Peak District are a short drive away including Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall and the newly restored Buxton natural spa. The nearest station is Grindleford which is a 5 minute drive away. We can collect guests by arrangement. There is also a bus stop just up the road connecting to Buxton, Sheffield and Chesterfield. Manchester airport is 45 minutes drive.
