Valley View Lodge is secluded and uniquely-situated on the award-winning Kelling Heath Holiday Park, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, yet is about five minutes' walk away from all the entertainment and facilities you could possibly need if the beauty around you is just not enough! The lodge is rustic on the outside, betraying a contemporary, open-plan, luxurious, eco-friendly interior, with everything required to make your stay as relaxing, enjoyable and comfortable as possible Valley View Lodge is situated on its own, private ridge within 300 acres of woodland and rare heathland, and yet it is just one mile from the beach at Weybourne and two miles west of the lovely seaside town of Sheringham, plus two miles east of the wonderfully quaint town of Holt, which is a shopper's paradise. The steam train of the Poppy Line makes its way from Sheringham to Holt and back across the main holiday season and can be caught from the station platform on edge of the Park, just ten minutes' walk from the lodge. A marvellous experience! The lodge is secluded and peaceful living in the tree-tops. The 360-degree valley views are really special and the relaxation and peace has to be experienced to be believed. To make life easier for you, we provide a hamper of mainly locally-produced goodies and essentials so you are well refreshed on arrival and have a good breakfast in the morning, delaying shopping trips if you so wish. We are very proud that the lodge has won a Green Eco Award for meeting stringent eco-tourism standards. Our fixtures and fittings are as green/sustainable as possible, and even our rugs and duvet/pillow fillings are made from recycled plastic threads. (They are amazingly soft!) The games & toys provided in the lodge are all wooden; our shower curtain is pure linen (handmade); our tissue boxes/clocks are wooden, our travel cot and high chair are wooden, and so on. Plastic has been avoided as much as possible and we hope to keep replacing what little is there as more sustainable options become available. Our complimentary toiletries, cleaning products, teas/coffees etc. are cruelty free, eco-friendly, Fairtrade etc. We have a separate griddle for vegans and vegetarian guests should they wish to use the kettle BBQ provided. (Please let us know of any dietary needs so we can tailor your hamper accordingly!) If you want relaxation and entertainment to-hand then there is plenty to be had on the Village Square in form of a Fitness & Leisure Centre (gym, indoor, outdoor and spa pools, and steam room/sauna (2 for 1 passes for all our guests!); rustic bar, restaurant and specialist pizza restaurant (with take-away option); outdoor sports (tennis, petanque, table tennis etc.); cycle hire (if required) and plenty of beautiful cycle trails; walking/nature trails; fishing lake; bird hide; guided star-gazing (the Park has designated Dark Sky Status); Village store stocking all essentials and a wide range of locally-produced items/gifts. Additionally, there are pop-up food stalls on the Square, artisan markets, children's entertainments (various ages) and live evening entertainments available across the season; organised crafts and nature-related activities for children, adults and families. The Park is also host to many special events such as the annual beer festival which takes place at the end of June/beginning of July. 2019 will see the return of the 'Winter in the Woods' celebration as the Park takes on a different beauty when autumn melts into winter. The park is part of the valuable 'Red Squirrel Breeding Project' and houses a pair of adults that are fascinating to watch. (As of May 2019, they have just had kits that are off the scale of cuteness!) We really look forward to welcoming you to Valley View Lodge soon! The lodge comprises two bedrooms (king size master with en-suite wet room and large walk-in wardrobe); tin room with built-in double wardrobe; entrance hall; large open-plan living/dining/kitchen, all surrounded by decking to take in the fabulous valley views. There is a well-stocked garden shed with two adult bikes available, Weber Kettle Plus BBQ and outdoor furniture. Guests will have sole use of the entire lodge for the duration of their stay. I will be available via phone or email during guest stays. Kelling Heath Holiday Park is situated within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in beautiful North Norfolk: a part of the country that is highly regarded for its peace, tranquility, uniqueness, stunning views and amazing skies. The mix of woodland (deciduous and coniferous) and rare heathland makes it the ideal place for anyone wanting to slow down the pace of life and reconnect with nature at its very best. Deer, squirrels and rabbits are regular visitors, as are red kites, bats, woodpeckers, pheasants, and so on. With the beach just a mile away, there is something for everyone and relaxation guaranteed! Lodge guests have taken the train to Norwich, then from Norwich to Sheringham and then caught the Poppy Line steam train to the edge of the Park making the need for a car redundant. However, if travel by car is preferred, there is adequate parking on-site and two cars are permitted outside the lodge itself. During peak months, local buses come onto the Park for pick-up and drop-off at regular intervals, travelling between Sheringham and Holt locally, and often beyond, depending upon time of day. Norwich International Airport is approximately 20 miles from Kelling Heath.
