Vacation here is a contrast to busy city life. Fresh air and sounds of nature are invigorating and relaxing. It’s a perfect place to chill out and recharge your batteries. There are two houses, which can be rented separately or together. The bigger Lipa (Lime, house 1) can accommodate 8 to 11 people (3 double beds, 2 double sofa beds,1 single sofa bed). There’s an open plan kitchen, connected to dining/living area with fireplace in the ground floor. A large bathroom and a pantry are also in the ground floor. First floor consists of two rooms and a leisure corner, equipped with children toys. The smaller house Vrba (Willow tree, house 2) is convenient for 4 to 6 people (1 double bed, 2 double sofa beds). Kitchenette with dining corner, living room with fireplace and bathroom are in the ground floor. Open space in the first floor can sleep up to 4 people. Outside there is a spacious private area for relaxing, eating or having a barbecue. Guests can enjoy lunch at three tables with benches in the shadow of a spreading lime tree. Ample meadow offers space for playing or relaxing in the sun. Children can play in a small wooden house (granary), while parents can rest in the sun. There is a private Boules court, ideal for competition and entertainment. The property measures 3.000 m2, has external lighting and is surrounded by hedge. Private parking. You can sample delicious home made products, eggs, tea herbs, vegetables, fruit, honey and wine from the surrounding vineyards. There are some restaurants (inns) in the neighbouring villages of Gradenc, offering local and national dishes. The property is surrounded with forests, open fields and vineyards. Farms and villages are dotted around the countryside, and many of the hilltops are dominated by small white churches. The vicinity is suitable for walking/hiking and cycling, with marked trails and paths leading to stunning view points from the top of the hills. The forests are alive with wildlife, including bears and wild boars. Deer are a common sight at the property, as well as squirrels and numerous birds. Žužemberk with post office, supermarket, pharmacy, doctor, church and coffee bar is 5 km away. The town is famous for its medieval castle and the river Krka’s cascades. There’s a park with swimming area. The river Krka is also convenient for kayaking and fishing. Fishing permits are available in Žužemberk. There are plenty of sights in vicinity to explore such as Pleterje (50 km) and Stična (30 km) monasteries, Kostanjevica na Krki ('Slovene Venice' built on an island in a bend of the river Krka), Šentrupert (31 km) with Museum of Hayracks and lovely semicircular walk with panoramic views and, in winter, ski slopes and cross country skiing in Ski center Bela (Črmošnjice, 30 km). Novo Mesto, the regional capital, is close (30 km). It’s a pretty historical town, built above a bend of the river Krka, and has numerous cafes, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, museum and a multiplex cinema (films are usually in original language with Slovene subtitles). Trebnje is 20 km away: supermarkets, pizzerias and restaurants with local food there, Golf & Country Club. Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia, is about forty minutes away (55 km), while Zagreb, the capital of neighbouring Croatia is an hour and a half away over the border (105 km). It takes only two hours to get to Adriatic coast (170 km). Piran and Portorož are beautiful littoral towns, worth of visiting. Slovenia is also known for one of the world's largest karst monuments - Postojna cave. It takes a little more than one hour to get there, via Ljubljana (106 km). During the main season, tours are available every hour, whereas outside of the main season, there are three to four tours daily. When in Slovenia, do not miss the opportunity to visit Bled, a picturesque town beside a lake with an island, embraced by majestic Alps (114 km). The area offers three quality thermal spas - Dolenjske Toplice (20 km), Šmarješke Toplice (39 km) and Čatež (70 km). They all have indoor and outdoor swimming pools and offer a wide range of massages, saunas and other treatments. The Summer Thermal Riviera at Terme Čatež is particularly appealing to children with its 10 outdoor pools, water slides, toboggans, lazy river and wave pool. Golfers can enjoy a 75-plus-hectare Golf course Otočec with 18 holes by the river Krka (35 km).
