Pretty cottage in the heart of North Yorkshire
An early 1800s cottage, steeped in history and charm in the heart of Middleham. An upside-down home from home with 2 bedrooms on the ground floor. Upstairs to a large open-plan kitchen dining area, a comfortable living room and a large family bathroom. French doors open onto a south facing terrace with space to eat outside and a bbq. Ideal on warm sunny days. Private parking for one car, with more on street. Our family cottage has been adapted over the years into a comfortable home. We have enjoyed spending long weekends here with our family and friends and are now happy to invite bookings. Through a winding nook straight off the main square you head to our hidden cottage. Downstairs we have a cosy double bedroom and a large twin room. There is a toilet and a shower downstairs too. Upstairs we have a large family bathroom. The spacious kitchen dining area is equipped with everything you will need to rattle the pans. As we also spend lots of time here there is always a supply of tea, coffee, sugar, oil and condiments. Our dining table sits 6 people. The living room has comfortable sofas and a tv with french doors opening onto our terrace which is lovely in the sun. We have an outdoor table and chairs and a bbq. There is a private parking space but there is also more free parking in the village square. We will arrange everything for your arrival and can be contacted if you need anything at all. Middleham is a small village with a huge horse racing community. It is in the heart of the Yorkshire dales, on the edge of the national park. Middleham is surrounded by breathtaking countryside views with countless walks to be taken. Richard III grew up in Middleham castle and The Middleham Jewel worth £2.5million was discovered near the site in 1985! The castle run by English Herritage is well worth a visit. There are multiple horse trainers in the village including the large stables of Mark Johnston. There are 4 friendly village pubs, 3 of which serve food. There is a village shop and a fish and chip shop. Leyburn is a 4 minute drive with a large array of shops, cafes and restaurants. The nearest train station is Northallerton but this is a 40 minute drive from the cottage. We are best reached by car.
