inMetaxata - Kefalonia The house is located in the Village of Metaxata on a small family estate. A ten minute drive will get you to the airport, to the Town of Argostoli, or to some of the best beaches on the island. The house itself is relatively new with a unique architectural design perfect for accommodating large families or groups of friends. It offers all the comforts and amenities to make your stay a most pleasant one. The house itself consists of three split-levels separated by eight steps between them, with a bedroom on each of the 3 levels including the ground floor. The dining and living areas are large enough to easily accommodate everyone in your party comfortably. The home has air conditioning in every bedroom and the common area, a washing machine to get you through your stay, a fully equipped kitchen, wi-fi access, and a small office- library on the loft if you actually brought work with you. There are two washrooms and even an outdoor shower area if you just can t wait. The furnished exterior balcony is perfect for breakfast or even a dinner if dining under the moonlight is your thing. The house is offered as a complete house with access to the grounds which include on-site parking. The grounds are fenced so if you have small children you can let them explore and enjoy without worrying about them straying off the grounds (just close the sliding gate). There is even a small basketball set-up where you can shoot some hoops. Metaxata is a very traditional village known for it s beautiful gardens and nearby beaches. It is located on the southern part of the Island of Kefalonia in the region known as Livathos, situated in low hills, very near the Ionian Sea coast. Lord Byron, who once lived in the Village of Metaxata was so inspired by the region’s beauty that wrote many poems about it. The Village allows for very easy access by car to every part of the Island. Most people find Metaxata a stroll friendly village, especially if you are seeking to experience a beautiful sunset. Nearby Villages within walking distance include: Lakithra, Kourkoumelata, and Kaligata. The best part is that the central town of Argostoli is only a ten minute drive away. There you can do lots of shopping, dining, and exploring. Within walking distance, you can find restaurants, cafe s, mini market s and archaeological sites. Metaxata is actually a walking friendly area and lends itself to those who want to wonder through neighboring villages or are just looking for that perfect spot to take in a spectacular sunset. We recommend you never leave the house without a camera, as you never know what you might discover. If you have a car, you can be at a number of amazing beaches or the island s capital Argostoli, in under 10 minutes. Argostoli is the central hub of Kefalonia with many great things to do such as catching a cultural event, dining at a great restaurant, enjoying a morning coffee at the pedestrian walkway, do some shopping, or be part of a vibrant night life scene at any number of cool establishments. For those without cars, there is public bus service twice a day during the weekday s that will get you to Argostoli. From Argostoli you can find connecting buses and tours to many more places of interest throughout the island. Finally, there is a very convenient and extensive taxi network that services the entire island.
