The apartment is located in a quiet courtyard just a few metres from Market Street, the main shopping street in the historic market town of Ashby-de-la-Zouch, the jewel in the crown of Leicestershire. Awarded the Ashby Civic Society Design Award in 2016, this luxury first floor apartment, tastefully decorated, fully furnished and equipped to a very high standard. Ground Level - Entrance Hall. Level 1 - Fully fitted kitchen and dining area, spacious open plan living area with two sofa beds plus separate toilet. Level 2 - Bathroom with bath / shower, wash basin and toilet. Bedroom - king size bed and dressing table / desk. Outside - One off road parking space. Available by phone, text or email for any enquiries and throughout your stay. Ashby's town centre is compact and thriving, with shop after shop of independent traders, from clothing to jewellery to food and drink, you're spoiled for choice. There are a handful of chains here too, and a good selection of charity shops if you're feeling thrifty. The town's nightlife has been heralded as entertaining, diverse, safe and enjoyable. There are restaurants and takeaways, cocktail bars and nightclubs, micropubs and old fashioned drinking establishments too. Everywhere you turn in Ashby there's history and culture. The Ashby Castle ruins, which played a key strategic role in the English Civil War, were the backdrop for Sir Walter Scott's Ivanhoe and are the backdrop for regular re-enactment events nowadays. The Bath Grounds were once the destination for some of the first ever package tours and are still well worth a visit today while our timber-framed and Regency buildings are a testament to the town's flourishing past they're still very much lived in. Ashby is the beating heart of the National Forest. As a result the former coalfields that surround it are now green and verdant, full of nature reserves and walking spots. Ashby is centrally located between the cities of Derby, Leicester, Birmingham and Nottingham and is easily accessible from Junctions 12 and 13 of the A42 linking the M1 to M42 motorway network. Located within a 10 mile radius of the town are Conkers National Forest Centre, Twycross Zoo, Calke Abbey, Staunton Harold, Hicks Lodge Cycling Centre and Donnington Park Race Track. The nearest train station is located at Burton on Trent (11 miles, 25 minutes) and further afield Tamworth, Loughborough and East Midlands Parkway. The closest airports are East Midlands (9.5 miles, 20 minutes) and Birmingham (27.5 miles, 35 minutes). The NEC is also conveniently located around 30 minutes’ drive away, near Birmingham Airport.
