Charming house near Zaanse Schans

Cosy house up to 6 people. Central heating, WiFi, tv, dvd, home cinema, mp3, bicycles, bbq, trampoline, basketballcourt with 2 baskets. 2 minutes from Zaanse Schans. 10 minutes drive or cycle from the trainstation. 20 minutes from Amsterdam centre by train or car, Schiphol airport, beaches, Edam, Marken etc. At 15 km from Amsterdam, in the polder countryside and 2 minutes from the Zaanse Schans, lies our house with its charming, fully self-supporting guesthouse for 1-6 persons. We are located in the countryside, but not in the middle of nowhere. There is a terrace and a big garden are all around the house, with a trampoline, a slide, a basketball court with 2 baskets, and enough space to play football. The guesthouse is next to our house, on the other side of the small bridge, which gives you all the privacy you need, while having us always nearby if you need help with anything. Ideal for families with kids, 2 couples, 6 friends, but also often used as a writers' and artists' retreat. The house has 3 bedrooms, 2 of which are connected, so depending on your relationship, the house can welcome up to 4-6 persons. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed and relatively basic. We have central heating, free WIFI (but can also be WIFI-free if you prefer), mp3 plugin, cable television and a home cinema system with loads of dvds, for the long winter evenings. Downstairs: 1 Fully equipped kitchen with cooker, refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, microwave/grill/oven and a coffee-grinding espressomachine. 1 L shaped living room, dinner table with 6 chairs (+children/baby chairs) Windows are all around and french doors lead to the terrace and garden. 1 Toilet Upstairs: 1 double room, with queensize bed 2 connected bedrooms, split level with door, with: 1 double room kingsize bed or split in 2 singles 1 double room with queensize bed in the upper level 1 bathroom with shower and toilet A car is most convenient, but if you come without, we try to pick you up from the trainstation (Zaanse Schans (train from Amsterdam) or Zaandam-Kogerveld (train from Schiphol-airport)). Note that without a car you will have to like the idea of cycling around as the Dutch do. It is a beautiful biking area, and I provide bicycles in all sizes (also with baby seats) to get around during your stay, go to the shops, to the trainstation etc., as walking might be a little bit too far or inconvenient along the road we live. Our house is 2 minutes away from world's famous open air museum Zaanse Schans, with its historic houses and windmills to visit. Here you will feel and relive the history of the Netherlands. The house is of course also a perfect operating base for visiting and going out in Amsterdam. We live nearby Amsterdam, and to get there it is a 15 minute drive to cheap parking lots at the entrance of the city, but maybe easiest is to take the train. A direct train takes you every 15 minutes from Koog-Zaandijk to Amsterdam Central Station (17 minutes ride). To the trainstation it is a beautiful 10 minutes bikeride through the Zaanse Schans, or 7 minutes by car (free parking). Beaches are at a 20 minutes drive away. Edam and Alkmaar (famous cheesemarkets), Monnickendam, Volendam, Marken and Haarlem at 25 minutes. There is a direct train from Schiphol Airport to Zaandam-Kogerveld station (22 minutes trainride) The rate is for 2 persons and includes: * linen * towels * use of bikes Every extra person above 2 persons is € 25,- per night.
