Wortley Cottage Guest House - Double Room

Wortley Cottage Guest House is in the centre of Wortley, Sheffield. The building dates from the 18th Century and was originally the main farm in the village serving Wortley Hall, the ancestral home of the Earl of Wharncliffe. We have three guest rooms in our family home, all en-suite, two Double rooms and one large Twin/Double room. The Wortley Double Bedroom, is at the back of the building overlooking Wortley Farm Shop. It has a private en-suite shower room. All our rooms have tea & coffee making facilities. Guests also have access to a shared fridge, with fresh milk and bottled water. We no longer accept AIRBNB bookings for PETS, due to bad experiences. Guests are provided with keys for their Bedroom, and you can come and go as you please. Guests are welcome to use our dining room (crockery & cutlery is available, please ask). Books, Games, Maps & Guides are available, some in the rooms, dining room and shelves at the top of the stairs. We live & work in the property, so are usually around if you need assistance. We have good knowledge of the local area and visitor attractions and maps & guides are available for guest use. If you have a problem with the room or facilities, please talk to us. Wortley is a small village - we still have a Pub, The Wortley Arms, Village Club (Wortley Men’s Club), Countess Tea Room, Farm Shop and Post Office & Village Shop. Wortley Hall is now a Hotel, Restaurant and Conference centre, with 26 acres of garden open to the Public. The Wortley Arms serves lunchtime & evening meals and we recommend guests book prior to arrival, especially Friday & Saturday evenings. Taxis – We are in a rural location and taxis must be booked in advance. Use S35 7DR as our postcode for SAT NAV purposes. Bus – limited services operate from Sheffield, Services: 23 23a and 29. Car Parking – we have no designated parking spaces but there are 15 unrestricted, on-street spaces close to our property. Can be busy if there’s a village event, but not normally a problem. Mobile phone signal can be patchy, however we have unlimited access to superfast fibre broadband.
