Discount weekly/monthly rates available for long-stay guests. We live in a very large, quiet, detached period house in North Colchester with plenty of space for parking and a big garden. The room is double-glazed, with central heating in both bedroom and bathroom, with unlimited hot water. We have superfast broadband (38mbs) with wired access in the room, as well as wireless access throughout the house. Ideal for professional seeking a home-from-home for weekdays. Discount weekly or monthly rates available for long-stay guests. All bills included. Guests have a dedicated, furnished kitchen including all cooking facilities, washing machine and dish washer. There is ample space for guest food in the fridge and larder. They can also use the garden. We do not provide breakfast but the basics will be provided on your arrival. We have a fairly settled routine, and are at home in the evenings fairly often during the week. We live in Myland, which is in the north of Colchester. We live right on the edge, meaning that within ten minutes in a car you can reach the centre of Colchester in one direction and Dedham Vale in the other. It is a twenty minute walk (seven minute bus ride) down to the main-line station with an excellent service to Liverpool Street which takes under an hour. We are tucked away from the main road and it is extremely quiet with no traffic noise. The No. 2 bus leaves two hundred yards from our front door, and takes seven minutes to get to Colchester Station and about another ten into the centre of town. Services are every 20 minutes, starting at 6.20am. (See the Arriva website for timetable.) There are fast, frequent trains from Colchester station to London Liverpool Street (around 50 minutes for the express service), Ipswich (17 minutes) and Norwich (55 minutes). See Greater Anglia website for timetables. We are seven minutes' walk from Colchester General Hospital. Severalls Business Park is five minutes by car. Access to the A12 by car is three minutes. You can be in the countryside - including Constable Country, the Stour Valley and Dedham Vale - within ten minutes. The famous Essex Way trail is just around the corner. Various children live at home, or not, at different times. We have dogs.
