Set in beautiful Suffolk, the Wagon Stowmarket offers guests the chance to relax & unwind in unique, hand-crafted surroundings Built in a secluded spot in a private secure garden, we offer a comfy double, a wood burner, vintage, recycled furnishings, a private BBQ deck, your own outdoor cook shack, firepit & ambient solar lighting for Al Fresco Dining Access Norwich, London, East Anglia & The Coast Take your glamping to the next level in our classic country getaway. Our hand crafted Shepherds hut is equipped with everything you need to make your stay great, There is a fully stocked hospitality tray with a range of teas, coffees and fresh milk (or vegetarian/vegan alternative) The hut is secluded & private at the bottom of our secure garden. As an original hand crafted shepherds hut, there is no mains plumbing but there is a canal boat style foot pump for essential water. You have your own key to access the downstairs bathroom during your stay with 24/7 access to mains hot water, toilet, bath, shower, shower gel, soap, shampoo, hairdryer and towels included with a washing machine should you need it. The bathroom is yours for the duration so you don't have to worry bout sharing. The hut is really well insulated and cosy with it's own vintage antique French wood burner, but there are some mod cons built in such as a charging port, coffee machine and of course the all important kettle! Bistro seating & private BBQ deck are yours for the duration, As the sun goes down, ambient solar lighting helps to create an intimate, Al Fresco dining experience or just check out our restaurant guide for the best places to eat and drink locally. Alternatively, you can take advantage of our new Cuban/Mexican style cookshack complete with gas hobs and a combi oven - super easy to cook a full meal without the need to see a soul. You don't even need to do the washing up - you can just put it in our dishwasher! if it's raining you can use the veranda on the studio building to dine in style regardless of the weather. OR come and join us on the main deck where our hand crafted wood fired pizza oven and BBQ will soon be up and running. Our Firepit is also available with a cast iron cooking grate Firelighters are in the hut and we can provide wood on request. We also keep some spare instant coal packs (for a small fee) if you don't want to have to bring a whole bag! All amenities are available in the main house with 24/7 access but we have installed a rustic outdoor camping shower with candlelight for summer. Simply fill from the hot tap - lovely! We also have an eco composting toilet for private use if you prefer to lock yourself away and enjoy the glamping in peace - however, we can't guarantee that our cat won't come to say hello :-) The hosts are local musicians (singers), and connoisseurs of the local ales so will be more than happy to take you on a tour of the area or simply guide you to the best spots for music, food and ale,- or you can check out our local restaurant and beer guide. For sports fans, if you are coming on a cycling tour we have secure areas in the garden for bikes with a lockable back gate. We can also direct you to the best places to run or partake in an open water swim if you love the great outdoors... and if you're feeling adventurous Jackie my partner is a professional vocal coach, so she can offer a lesson Al Fresco to get you in full voice for the week :-) It is not a noisy spot but it is next to the train track -being rural trains do not run all night so this should not disturb you. The hut is quite far away from the house so feel free to enjoy the firepit and play music in the garden (within reason!). We only ask that you be respectful and keep the noise at a reasonable level and switch off past 10.30 pm or move it inside as sound travels up, we have neighbours and we'd like to stay on the Christmas Card list! :-) We look forward to welcoming you to East Anglia and hoping to ensure you have a pleasant stay in Suffolk You will have the entire wagon to yourself as well as use of private decking by the side of the wagon. We're currently creating a rustic cookshack so that you create culinary masterpieces - your only onlookers being our friendly chickens. For Summer 2021, Jonny is building a wood fired pizza oven for that full on continental break feel - When it's lit, for a small fee we can offer you the finest hand made wood fired pizza to enjoy Don't worry about the rain - there is a veranda attached to the music room that is under shelter if you want to enjoy eating outdoors whatever the weather! The wagon is not plumbed but we do have a foot operated basin and drinking water available but you will have your own key to access the bathroom and kitchen. During your stay we have use of a separate upstairs bathroom, so you will have full private access Bottles and jugs are provided for you to take what you need during your stay or leave them outside the wagon and we'll replenish every day or help yourself to whatever you need from the cookshack - that includes the fresh eggs from our chickens We work from home, so can be on hand if you need anything during your stay. However, we can also leave you to it if you wish to be left alone to enjoy the shepherds hut. We have a lockbox which means you can always access the kitchen and bathroom in our absence Stowmarket is an historic town in the heart of East Anglia. The local Museaum of East Anglian Life offers music and beer festivals and there are a number of purveyors of the finest ales within a short walk. The hosts are musicians themselves so can offer you fun singing workshops during your stay, take you along to gigs or just point you in the right direction to find your own entertainment and the best music available during your stay. Literally two minutes from the train station. Stowmarket is the gateway to East Anglia with the historic coastline being no more than 10 - 30 minutes by car or train or bike - eenjoy Felixstowe, Woodbridge, Lavenham, Bury St Edmunds, Framlingham Castle, Orford, Aldeburgh, Southwold, Dunwich, Norwich, Cambridge & More Fantastic cycling routes, access to the A14/A12, and two minutes from the train station makes this an easy central spot. All local attractions within walking distance. We are operating a rigorous clean in between stays and leaving the hut empty for 24 hours wherever possible. We also use Biocidal Cleaner for maximum protection and ask that while using the shared facilities, you wipe down before and after use (current standard guidelines). We use lateral flow tests twice weekly, and we often have spares for guests if you are particularly anxious about your stay. We have made the space as fresh and cosy as possible - even if we are socially distanced - we still look forward to welcoming you!
