Hidden in a green garden in Amerongen is this detached cottage. The ideal starting point to explore the beautiful surroundings. Deep forests, the river landscape, historic estates and castles invite you to make beautiful walking and cycling tours. In 2018, the mountain bike route of Amerongen was proclaimed the most beautiful in the Netherlands. We warmly welcome you for a wonderful stay. The cottage and its immediate surroundings are used only by you. You have your own entrance and free parking on the premises. The cottage has recently been renovated and equipped with a new kitchenette and carpet. Outside there is a barbecue and there are lounge chairs. The table and 2 chairs inside can easily be moved outside. The beds are made. The kitchen and bathroom are equipped with clean towels. If necessary, several clean towels are available in the cottage. Detergent and disinfectant hand soap is available. Breakfast is available at an additional cost. The wifi-connection is of good quality. For a fee of € 8, = your own laundry can be washed and dried. The bathroom is equipped with shampoo, conditioner, shower cream and hand soap. Sufficient toilet paper is provided. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, a two-burner induction hob, an airfryer, a coffee machine with coffee and tea and a microwave. There is also a book with manuals of the equipment in Dutch, German, English and French. The cottage has its own entrance. It is separated from the main building. If you come by car, you can park it inside the fence. If you come by public transport, then bus line 50 (station Utrecht to Veenendaal/Wageningen) runs through the Kon. Wilhelminaweg. You get off at the bus stop Amerongen Dorp. If you come by bike or take your bike with you on the back of your car, it can be parked under cover or directly at the cottage behind a lockable door. There is a garden hose available to hose down mountain bikes. The historical part of Amerongen is unique, with Amerongen Castle to visit, the tobacco cultivation museum and cosy terraces. The Amerongen forest, a 94 hectare nature reserve, is part of the National Park Utrechtse Heuvelrug. There is a 17 km long mountain bike trail, proclaimed the most beautiful in the Netherlands. The nature area the Amerongse Bovenpolder is a 45 ha. large swamp- and lakescape, surrounded by meadows and the Nederrijn, ideal for bird watching. Amerongen is situated in the middle of the Netherlands and is a nice starting point to visit other cities and famous museums in the Netherlands. The car can be parked on private property. The bus stop (Amerongen Dorp) is within walking distance. Bus line 50 goes to Utrecht station and to Wageningen. Utrecht offers direct connections to Schiphol, Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and other cities in the Netherlands. Breakfast can be provided at an additional cost. Choice of simple breakfast: 2 rolls, milk or buttermilk, fruit juice, coffee, tea and sandwich fillings: jam, cheese and cold cuts. Costs €7,= p.p. Or a luxury breakfast: a simple breakfast plus yoghurt or quark, fruit, tomato, 2 eggs and bacon. Costs €12,50 p.p..
