We are lucky to have many local pubs and restaurants with excellent food in our village and neighbouring villages, and we have a fantastic Fine Wine and Farm Shop in the village which together with selling beautiful meat and groceries, fresh bread and patisseries serves breakfast, lunch and tea with cooking lessons in their prestigious cookery school well worth booking, all within walking distance. Under 1 hour Access to London, Guildford, Farnborough, Windsor, Farnham, Reading, Stockbridge, Heathrow, and our central position makes it a country experience with all amenities within easy reach. Discover England's newest National Park, The South Downs. Go Ape at Alice Holt Forests or Tree Running Stockbridge, or Bracknell Forests. Go cycling anywhere and everywhere we live on a Wiggle! with smart road bikes passing us every day we can put you in touch with a bike hire company so you can join them. Go shopping in Winchester or visit the cathedral or King Arthurs table. Go to see Jane Austen's House Museum in Chawton, and visit little Art Galleries in Selbourne. Portsmouth is worth a visit to see the historic Mary Rose or HMS Victory. There is canoeing, bowling, Cinemas, Theatres or ice skating in Basingstoke or shopping at Festival Place. The beautiful Georgian wool towns of Farnham, Odiham & Alresford. Highclere Castle or Downton Abbey to see the Egyptian relics from the tomb of Tutankhamun. Take a steam train along the Watercress Line. There are lots of pubs in the area serving delicious food: the Hoddington Arms in Upton Grey, The Derby in North Warnborough, Bel and the Dragon at the George in Odiham, The Fur & Feathers in Herriard, The Anchor Inn in Lower Froyle, the Woolpack Inn in Totford, The Purefoy Arms in Preston Candover. There are lovely food, gift and flower shops in Odiham, our Georgian Market town (market day is Friday by the way) and snug tea rooms, post office, barber, hairdressers, supermarket and banks. Everything you need is close by so you can relax and explore the area. There is a Bus stop to access the Hook Train station next to the house Hook and Winchfield Stations 5 minutes drive Basingstoke Station 10 minutes drive with connections to Reading, London, Basingstoke & Woking Taxis waiting at Hook & Winchfield Stations and only £7 from Hook to our door.
