The sea in front and a lush park all around, a green hill full of trees, caressed by the wind and kissed by the sun for several months of the year, where you can get lost in relaxing walks and paths designed for jogging or you can devote to self-care; this is the setting of Villa Millefiori, a completely independent holiday home with private pool that offers a holiday immersed in nature and relaxation while being only a 5-minute drive from the beaches of Porto San Giorgio. Rebuilding and reviving a Marche mansion from the early 1900s was a bet that, with courage and passion, was won by the owners of Villa Millefiori. Here the colors, materials and furnishings have been designed by us to create a warm and enveloping atmosphere, which is pleasant to find both day and night. The park, rich in vegetation and inhabited by small wild animals (squirrel, hoopoe, buzzard, robin, woodpecker), has colors, scents and sounds that, spreading inside the rooms, create a pleasant sensation: everything, inside and outside. , blends in perfect harmony. Villa MIllefiori offers its guests an immersed park of 5000 hectares where there are thousands of different species of plants and flowers that give different colors and scents in every month of the year and which have given the name to the villa; inside the park there are numerous corners with waterfalls and water games, relaxation and reading corners with benches and tables, paths and trails to walk in full harmony with the surrounding nature. Villa Millefiori is the ideal solution for families or groups of friends up to 8 people who love privacy and tranquility but also want to comfortably reach the main services in a few minutes by car. Porto San Giorgio railway station 5 km Interurban bus stop 1 km Marche airport 70 km Traveling in the Marche AIRPORTS The main transport hub of the Marche is the Adriatic port city of Ancona. International flights serve the Marche airport just northwest of the city, while ferries sail to and from destinations in Greece, Croatia and Albania. PRIVATE CAR You must be a good driver in the Marche; the streets are narrow and often steep. Fly to Ancona and rent a car. For speed, take the A14, which connects the entire region along its 111 miles of coastline, from Pesaro in the north to Ascoli Piceno in the south. For pleasure, drive along the state roads through the beautiful landscapes of the Marche. TRAINS Once in the region, trains run along the coast and buses serve most of the inland towns and villages. Realistically though, you'll want your wheels to explore the region's verdant hinterland. Car rental service is available at the Marche airport and Ancona railway station. THE COMPREHENSORY OF FERMO-PORTO SAN GIORGIO The vocation of Fermo, for its history as a city of studies and for its tradition as a center of cultural exchanges in the Adriatic, has always been aimed at welcoming and hospitality. The tools available to the City to continue responding to this trend are many and have consolidated and refined over time. First, the culture. Fermo retains an intact Renaissance urban layout which, starting from the main Piazza del Popolo - one of the most beautiful in the Marche - can be enjoyed through a series of itineraries dotted with churches, noble palaces, courtyards and artistic portals. Another strong point of Fermo and its hamlets is the landscape. Perched around the Girfalco hill, whose park is home to centuries-old plants and is one of the most beautiful panoramic terraces of the Marche coast, the city has for its natural backdrops, on one side the Adriatic Sea, only eight kilometers away from the urban center, from the another the suggestive scenery of a hinterland of typical towns that go with a gentle hilly landscape up to the slopes of the "blue mountains" of Leopardi's memory, the Sibillini. This privileged position means that Fermo offers a clean sea and well-equipped beaches on which to practice sailing, wind surfing and kitesurfing, such as at Lido di Fermo, in Casabianca, in Marina Palmense; it also allows tourists to enjoy the tranquility of the hinterland in farmhouses and facilities equipped for trekking, mountain biking and horseback riding, and is a natural gateway to the nearby Monti Sibillini Park. The numerous accommodation activities offer suitable solutions for all needs. From Fermo, moreover, considering the particular local production structure based on small and medium-sized enterprises, interesting and particularly refined paths are possible between company outlets of big names and artisan traditions where shoes, hats, accessories and clothing make fashion and trend in the major international boutiques. THE MARCHE - ITALY IN A REGION ITALIAN SECRET The Marches are one of the best kept secrets of Italy. Sandwiched between the Adriatic and its better known neighbors Tuscany and Umbria, this quiet and sparsely populated region has long slipped under the travel radar. However, with a number of lovely hill towns and a landscape that ranges from the snow-capped peaks of the Apennines to dream beaches and otherworldly caves, it's the perfect place to experience Italy without the crowds. Outstanding for their geometric shapes and imposing appearance, Italian castles are not only majestic, but utterly stunning, a splendor that is best viewed in person. Interestingly, no two castles are alike and each has unique characteristics that are related to historical events, natural environment and political changes over the centuries. RICH HISTORY Few countries in the world are pervaded by such a strong sense of historical continuity as Italy. From the myths surrounding the birth of the Etruscan civilization to the founding of a united Italy in the 19th century, past and present are inextricably linked in a seamless network that spans over three millennia. This short story provides a thread to guide you through the labyrinth of this complex story. You will find a more detailed local history on the individual city pages. RESTAURANTS The Marche is centrally located on the Italian east coast, nestled between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea. The region is characterized by a rugged mountainous hinterland and a coastline lined with beaches, dotted with picturesque seaside towns. These variations in the geography of the region are also reflected in its food; seafood is popular, along with rural delicacies such as wild mushrooms, game, nuts and herbs, and the region's precious truffles. Rabbit in porchetta, rabbit stuffed with wild fennel is a revered regional specialty, and traditional porchetta made with suckling pig and stuffed into rolls is a popular street food. Autumn in the Marche If you don't love hot days and love beautiful and mild sunny days, when the sun gently caresses your skin and your senses, inviting you to spend time outdoors, why not take the opportunity of a holiday in the Marche Autumn? THE SCENT OF HARVEST Especially in the first part of autumn, the scents of the harvest invade the hills of the Marche. With the must are made the typical soft donuts that can be found in many local pastry shops, must biscuits, perfect to serve with "vino cotto" (literally "cooked wine") and "sughetti" (a sort of polenta made from must, corn and nuts). When the must is cooked for a long time, sapa is produced: it is a sweet and sticky ingredient perfect for seasoning polenta and making cavallucci (typical local biscuit). The sughitti festival takes place in the last week of September in Montecassiano. At the beginning of October, the oldest Grape Festival in Italy is held in Cupramontana: it is a party with food, music, dancing and, of course, Sir Wine. HARVEST OF OLIVES AND OLIVE OIL One of the most magical moments in the Marche, and in Italy in general, takes place at the end of October / beginning of November: this is the month of the olive harvest, when you will see many people working around the olive trees to collect the precious fruit. Do not hesitate: the new oil, with an intense green color, is immediately ready to be tasted and purchased. If you have friends who have a farmhouse in the countryside with an olive grove, ask them to invite you for the harvest: it will be a nice moment to share with your friends and then you can bring the olives to the mill and watch the p...
