Willow "Cottage on the river" Stunning wide beam narrowboat. ( Static Mooring ) This idyllic ribbon of water, nestles in a willow lined valley brimmed with peace and tranquillity. A true paradise for anglers, walkers, artists, birdwatchers and small boat enthusiasts. Surround yourself in the beauty of the Chelmer and Blackwater canal, discover the 12 locks and bridges, stretching from Heybridge Basin sea lock to Chelmsford city centre. Willow is a 57ft by 10ft static moored widebeam barge beautifully furnished with solid oak flooring, central heating, cosy log burner and free WiFi. The kitchen has everything you need for home cooking with full size gas cooker and hob, utensils, fridge, freezer, toaster, tea towels, washing up and cleaning equipment, salt, pepper, tea, sugar and coffee. Nespresso coffee machine with pods supplied. This open plan galley leads on to the spacious lounge with sofa, stow away table, TV and a selection of board games are also provided for your enjoyment. A log burner provides an additional cosy heating option. We provide nets of seasoned logs Willow has 2 bedrooms, a master double and a separate single. Both have ample storage space and premium bed linen. Both rooms have private access doors. The bathroom consisting of shower, flushing toilet and wash basin, comes with towels, hand soap, shower gel and toilet paper. At the rear of the barge is a utility room consisting the freezer, boot and coat storage. Willow is sited on a private mooring on the opposite side to the public tow path. Entry is accessed from the front of the boat with steps across and down into the boat to enter the lounge. The parking space provided is 100 yards from the mooring. Hosts are very knowledgeable about the area and happy to help with questions at check in. For further assistance during stay email is best which is provided in your welcome pack on arrival. Our unique location situated in the charming village of Woodham Walter offering an idyllic retreat along the Blackwater and Chelmer canal, the village and local pubs are within walking distance. The 11 mile stretch of canal offers stunning walks along its accessible tow path for wildlife enthusiasts. Just 3.5 miles away from the historic town of Maldon, great for exploring the promenade park with its London Barges and award winning tea shops. Willow is static moored approx half way along the stretch, making easy access to surrounding tourist sites. The lock is easily accessed by car, 1 car parking space is provided. The actual mooring is a 100 yard walk from the car park which is securely locked. The best way to explore the surrounding area is by walking, cycling or car. Taxi numbers are provided in your welcome pack. The nearest train station is Hatfield Peveral Station located just 10 min drive. Please allow 15 minutes for briefing when checking in and be prepared to develop a deeper awareness regarding usage of finite resources - in particular water and electricity. WiFi / Internet ( Smart TV Access ) owing to the remote location of our mooring sometimes the internet connection drops out - this does impact the streaming TV services / WiFi. The service we provide is FREE, however please bear this in mind when booking. Willow is a smoke free boat. Please refrain from smoking inside the boat or on the decks. We will provide 2 bags of seasoned logs - Additional bags can be purchased £7 per bag. No pets please.
