The Hay Loft at Heads Hill Farm
Set on a former dairy farm, on the Berkshire/Hampshire border, The Hay Loft is a newly converted first floor studio flat finished to a superb standard. With views of Watership Down, The Hay Loft is off a quiet country lane leading directly into the Greenham Common nature reserve; it offers a very restful, rural retreat. Ideal for cyclists, hikers and nature-lovers, red kite circle overhead, deer wander through and we even have a tame local peacock! Close to Highclere Castle, Newbury Racecourse. Completed in April 2021, the former farm building was converted into The Old Dairy on the ground floor and The Hay Loft above. Both apartments share a ground floor lobby and can be booked together when joining up with friends or relatives. The Old Dairy is listed to accommodate up to 4 people. In an elevated location, The Hay Loft enjoys southerly views over the lovely gardens with Watership Down in the distance. The internal space is both light and airy and warm and cosy, with a soothing colour scheme, underfloor heating and modern lighting. Facilities include king-size bed, 2-seater sofa, quartz breakfast bar, built-in wardrobe, WiFi, USB charging points, fridge, dishwasher, microwave combi-oven, hob, kettle, toaster, water filter jug, crockery, cutlery, utensils, hairdryer, iron, hangers, linen and towels. Welcome pack including milk, tea, coffee, sugar, salt, pepper, soap, shampoo, dishwasher tablets. Private parking is immediately next to the building. Guests can self-check-in as keys will be accessible from a coded key safe. The lane leads directly on to Greenham Common nature reserve, so perfect for going straight out into nature with no car required. The easiest way to get hold of me will probably be to send a message through the Airbnb app. We are located 3 miles from Newbury railway station and 1 mile from Thatcham railway station, so it is possible to get here via train and taxi. We are at a very convenient starting off point for exploring by bike. Immediately to the front is a Mediterranean-inspired gravel garden. Outdoor furniture is provided to enjoy the sunshine or relax under cover.
