Delightful old stone cottage
Sample an old English country cottage sitting in our stone walled garden, in the centre of an historic Peak District village. We can only offer a minimum of four nights. The cottage is best suited to a single family or up to four people. Headlands Fold cottage stands in the gardens to The Headlands, our home for over thirty years. Our house was built around 1790 and the cottage is considered to be older! It was recently completely re-decorated and modernised, it's not large but provides comfortable and cosy accommodation. There is gas central heating and the lounge is fitted with a gas flame effect wood burner. In the dining room you can set your places on our Georgian oak table, or listen to the digital radio. In the lounge we have tv and wireless internet connection. Three bedrooms are configured with a double bed, two singles and a small single in the box room. There is a fully fitted kitchen with modern appliances. The bathroom has underfloor heating. Winster is an historic village, home to the most listed buildings in the whole of the Peak District. We are situated on a quiet lane, yards from a great village pub, but within a walled garden giving privacy and tranquillity. Numerous footpaths lead from the village and Chatsworth House lies only ten minutes away by car. Check out Winster's website for more information on what the village has to offer. There is a small courtyard with a table and chairs for enjoying the evening sunlight. If we are not around we may offer the use of our beautiful garden. We are next door but not obtrusive. There is a limited bus service to Matlock and Bakewell and taxis are available from neighbouring villages. Plenty of footpaths surround the village so Shanksy's pony is always an option! There are some low ceilings so you'll need to 'duck or grouse' as they say up here! We are only letting for a minimum of 4 nights at present
