Boaters Hill Cart Lodge is a detached and wonderfully renovated property uniquely situated within a conservation area and working farm with access to the River Waveney in the Norfolk Broads National Park. The property is traditionally styled, with contemporary touches and the added benefit of a private HOT TUB. The bedrooms can be configured as either a double and 2 twin rooms or three double rooms or even 2 doubles and a twin room. Surrounding the property are many walks and trails to explore the stunning flora and fauna this unique landscape has to offer. We are passionate about conservation and the property is situated within a Natura 2000 site - if you are lucky you may catch a glimpse of the resident kingfisher, watch deer grazing at sunset, or even hear the distant booming of the bittern, an occasional visitor to these parts. There are so many options for exploring this less-known corner of the Broads: float down the beautiful river Waveney on ‘Jessie B’, the Cart Lodge’s private silent engined electric launch (available at special concessionary rates), while away the hours fishing or take on the challenge on foot or by bike. Canoes, fishing rods and bicycles are all available. You could even bring your own horses for some beautiful hacking (and five star stabling). Hacking and riding lessons can also be arranged with the owners. After a day of exploring you can sit back and relax in the beamed living room and enjoy the warmth from the wood burner. This rural location is tucked away yet still close to the popular Georgian market town of Beccles, the ever popular Southwold and further inland the fine city of Norwich, excellent for shopping, culture and nightlife. Located on the Norfolk and Suffolk border you are ideally placed to discover all the gems both counties have to offer. This exceptional landscape is a maze of medieval, manmade waterways that offer nature, adventure and relaxation.
