The Gardener's Hut at Kirkwood, near Biggar

Self-built in July 2018 this traditional style Shepherd's Hut faces a beautiful organic flower and veg garden, surrounded by trees. Private outhouse with hot shower / separate WC. Outdoor seating. *No 240V Mains Power Close to historic market town of Biggar, River Clyde, and Culter Fell hill. Cornhill Castle 2 mins. Dawyck Botanic Gardens and Stobo Castle Spa are 20 minutes by car. Edinburgh 40 mins, Glasgow 50mins. Continental breakfast (£5pp) is available 1st March - 30 Sept This is a bright, clean, comfortable and compact space. Ideal for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers on a budget. We provide B&B style catering, fresh towels, bed linen, kindling and logs for the wood-burning stove. There is no mains power in the hut (low current USB power for mobiles available via solar battery in hut) but we are happy to charge laptops or tablets overnight in the main house. There are no cooking facilities with the stove other than kettle boiling and croissant toasting! The outdoor WC has a cold water tap only but the Shower Room is gas heated hot water Sun Trap seating area WIFI signal near the main house, Fresh organic garden produce available to purchase We may or may not see you but there is always someone on the premises to assist you if needed. I'm available on my phone by text or call anytime We are situated next to the A702 between Biggar and Coulter, road noise is audible from the location at busy times of the day but the Hut has double glazed windows and traffic is light after 7pm. Car: Parking for 1 car in front of the main house. Bus: 101 Stagecoach Bus Service to/from Edinburgh and Dumfries will stop at our main entrance on the A702. Strictly No Smoking in the property else a £100 deep clean fee will be charged. We don't charge a separate cleaning fee, so we expect guests to leave the place in good order.
