Only a short 30 minute train ride from London & 5 minutes taxi from the station. 15 minutes drive to Gatwick. With many fantastic walks & bike rides on our doorstep & masses of incredible history in Bletchingley village & surrounding areas, you don't need a car (or a computer!). The beautiful village of Bletchingley is of medieval origin and well worth discovering this treasure in the heart of the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Located on the A25 between Redhill and Godstone and only six minutes from junction 6 of the M25. 2 main line train stations are located within 6 miles (Merstham - nearest or Redhill main town) of the village with direct access through to London and other destinations. Its historic centre contains many attractive listed buildings and part of the village is within the green belt and our cottage is within the conservation area and Area of Great Landscape Value. The wide High Street originates from the market square that once used to exist there. Bletchingley has a well known superb cake shop called Lamingtons which is a must! Go with an empty stomach! Check dates/ availability in advance. We also have a specialist antique shop and 3 major pubs all within walking distance of each other and offer a wide selection of menus and atmospheres (check availability by calling in advance due to Covid measures). Other shops include a post office and newsagent; hairdressers and an Indian takeaway. St Mary's Church originates from over 900 years ago, with the tower, early Norman, probably being the oldest part of the building, about 1090. At one time there was a spire which was destroyed in 1606 by lightning. The North Downs and Greensand Way are all within easy walking distance of the Village. From almost anywhere in the Village you are only 5 minutes walk from some lovely walks in the countryside.
