Little Lodge, Herstmonceux Village
Cosy cottage with a log burner and walks right from your your doorstep. We have a great village pub, a curry restaurant, Willows fish and chip shop, a bakery and a fully stocked village store open early till late. Well behaved pets are very welcome, could you please make us aware that they will be coming with you. Many thanks Anita Our cottage is on two levels and is annexed to the main house. Guests are able to collect the key from the secure key safe and have a private front door and courtyard back garden. We work long hours but we are not far away and are contactable by phone Little Lodge, annexed to Tudor Lodge, West End was built around 1850 and leads directly into the centre of the village. Located in a characterful street, some of the homes date back to the early 1600s, others are Victorian with a smattering of more modern housing in between. Fully equipped galley style kitchen with electric hob, oven, microwave, fridge and washing machine. Lobby behind kitchen with separate downstairs toilet and sink. Living room has a comfortable large two seater sofa, oak dining table and two dining chairs. Log burner with one full basket of logs. Upstairs is accessed via a cottage style open sided stair case to a galleried landing. Off the landing is a bathroom with shower over bath, sink and toilet. Double aspect bedroom with Beautiful French bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers. Walkers/runners/cyclists you can access many footpaths right from the front door! We are also just 10 miles from The South Downs National Park and the South down's Way. Around 5 miles to access The Weald Way and The Vanguard Way or just 2miles to connect to The 1066 country walk. Within 5 miles we have some excellent country pubs serving good food for you to explore. Central and all within a 10 mile radius we have the market town of Hailsham. Historic Battle with its Abbey, Bexhill on Sea with its iconic Art Deco De La Warr Pavilion recently updated as has Bexhill Promenade with many restaurants. Sussex county town of Lewes. Village bus connections to major towns and railway stations at Battle or Polegate. Just to note that the cottage stairs are narrow and open on one side and not really suitable for young children. We supply a full basket of logs for free, please help yourself to more if you need them. We run an honesty system so if you could leave £5 per basket full that you use after the first, we would much appreciate it. Thank you. PETS Also if you are bringing you dog, we would respectfully ask that they don’t go in the bedroom, other guests don’t appreciate it and please can you not leave them unattended for long periods of time. If they are used to being left while you go for a meal that’s fine.
