Delightful newly refurbished stone built one bedroom cottage enjoying fantastic views of the local Yorkshire countryside. Situated in the outskirts of Shelley, within the Green Belt, Woodview Cottage offers you a place of luxurious comfort, peace and tranquility to enjoy your stay away from home. Offering an opportunity to simply relax, or undertake activities including walking, cycling or golf, or to use the Cottage as a base to visit some of the many places of interest in the area. Directly from the Cottage join one of the many local walks through woods and stunning countryside. The local villages of Kirkburton, Shelley and Shepley are all within walking distance from the cottage. The cottage is dog friendly with exercising and walks available within 20 metres of the cottage door. The cottage is perfectly located for exploring within easy driving access, the world famous Yorkshire Sculpture Park, National Mining Museum, Last of the Summer wine area of Holmfirth, Nostell Priory, Cannon Hall Park, Peak District National Park, Hepworth Art Gallery at Wakefield, the Piece Hall and Shibden Hall (famous for the setting of the “Gentlemen Jack” TV series In Halifax), to name a few; are all within a half hours drive from the house. Experienced cyclists may like to try the route up to nearby Holme Moss which featured when the Tour de France came to Yorkshire. For those less hardy, the Trans Pennine Trail is on the doorstep. Because of good road networks, trips further afield could readily take you to York, the Yorkshire Dales, the East Coast resorts of Whitby, Scarborogh and Filey, or the West coast resorts of St Annes and Blackpool. For those requiring retail therapy, the shopping centres of Meadowhall, Leeds and Manchester are all within a 45 minutes drive. Local facilities include 3 pubs within walking distance (no more than 1 mile of the house), two of which serve excellent meals; and within 5 miles a further award winning pub and restaurant together with an array of Indian, and Thai take away services with accompanying restaurants; not to forget the local renowned farm shops, garden centre and ice cream parlours.
