Harecroft The Cottage

The Fens cover an area of around 200 square miles of agricultural land, west of The Wash. Nestling between the cathedral city of Peterborough and the university town of Cambridge, with a wide range of attractions and sites to see, it is also an area renowned for its wildlife, quiet roads, perfect for cycling, network of rivers ideal for water-based holidays. With a wide choice of Pubs, Restaurants, Beaches and attractions. The Fens borders on Peterborough, Lincolnshire, and Norfolk. Come & stay Harecroft Cottage happens to be the oldest Fen cottage in Fenland. It has been beautifully and tastefully restored with an eclectic mix of vintage and modern. Obviously being a very old cottage you’d expect old low beams so bare this in mind when booking but tall guys and gals who have previously stayed expect this. Summer you have harvest fields and stunning summer sunsets, a functional BBQ. All seasons you will automatically feel snug, warm, and invited as you have all the amenities of a boutique feel home. Plus many vintage games and a host of vintage books to read! Christmas is the perfect setting with twinkling lights, tasteful Christmas trees and the warmth of the log burner. There is ample off street parking, double 5 bar gates, outside lighting and a large paddock to the rear with a large walled gravelled patio, safe for dogs. The paddock can be used for well-trained dogs (on lead) which are friendly to poultry, quails and ducks. They have a run and coops and can be shut in and are overnight. We have a games room/office equipped with pool table, table tennis, darts, even PlayStation and an exercise bike, small ladies weights, and fitness balls. Kids can play football outside or just chill out. It really is a picturesque setting. Come and stay and relax in this lovely country cottage. COVID-19 We here at Harecroft take Covid-19 extremely seriously as you would expect. We are fully open. The cottage is steam cleaned and regularly sanitized. We are open 24/7 - 365 days per year under normal circumstances. Longer lets are available. Corporate stays are most welcome with super fast fibre broadband service. As Harecroft is split into two main buildings, all guests will have full use of the cottage on site. This includes a beautiful light dining room with amazing old long farmhouse table for everyday use or for work-related use, a very cosy but large sitting room with an Aga log burner, and plush velvet sofas and chairs, plenty of soft lighting, your very own laundry service (paid), kitchen to include oven and hob, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, cutlery/dining set. A lovely powerful shower room with all mod cons. Up the original staircase in the old cottage you will find two tastefully decorated double bedrooms with built in wardrobes to the double bedroom with vintage french cream furniture. In the 2nd smaller room, there is a sumptuous double bed. Fresh bed linen and towels provided to all our staying guests and bowls and bedding for your furry friends, if of course permitted. Ideal for both business use or pleasure. SKY Q and Superfast Fibre Broadband. Perfect for work from home trips plus SKY NETFLIX for those lazy movie days.. I will be on hand at all times virtually or in house to help with travel arrangements, tourist attractions, full use of necessary cottage amenities, such as TV, Washing Machine (paid), kitchen, drying service available. Happy to hoover through for guests staying longer... I can provide home-cooked meals by a personal cook to provide food for a fee based on per person. If available and on request with plenty of notice. There is no breakfast but I usually provide my guests with fresh eggs, Teas and Coffees and milk and bread. Gates to the front driveway access to be closed at all times please. We appreciate your need for privacy. On hand, at all times if requested. Please do respect this is our home and look after as you would your own property. Dogs/cats are not permitted in bedrooms or on sofas but to sleep downstairs in the sitting room. Extra bedding provided on request. Please bring your own throws should your pooch want a cuddle sofa as the sofas are pink plush velvet and rather expensive. Please remove rubbish from the cottage and leave it in bags provided outside the front of the cottage. Also please would you strip your beds before you leave as an extra Covid/sanitary precaution and leave at the foot of the washing machine. Thank you. Nic. Friendly neighbours, quiet, yet a lovely local market town with all amenities, to include a bank, bakers, florist, grocery store, hair and beauty, post office, to name but a few. The local church is a mile down the road should you wish to take in a Sunday service.. Good walks for you and your dog.. and a local pub to rest your legs and have a tipple. Long lets are available but please book in advance to avoid disappointment. There is plenty of buses that can take you to local towns and cities. Plus a Train Network at Spalding & Peterborough. Plus many private taxi services available. Ramblers local to Long Sutton and bike rides. Bikes available on request. Plus a haven for the equine in you! A very relaxing and comfortable environment to write, paint, read, work or relax. Amazing sunsets, local wildlife, and plenty of trips to take from a day out to Norfolk by the coast, a trip to Lincoln, bird watching, rambling, so easy to get to many cities and towns full of life and intoxicating charm. Perhaps you just fancy relaxing with a genre of music or watch a movie in front of the fire, or have a game of Trivial pursuits, we have it all at Harecroft. Also ideal for business use.
