We are five minutes walk into the forest or two minutes cycle ride and ideally placed for those who love quiet spaces and countryside walking / cycling - and you will see ponies, cattle, pigs, donkeys, sheep and if you're really lucky - deer. We have many picturesque pubs and restaurants nearby - some within walking distance. We are happy to arrange bookings for you but will need good notice as they do tend to get booked in advance - even in the winter Your room is equipped with new and comfortable beds and freshly laundered linen, towels and robes and each room has its own tea / coffee making facilities. All rooms have thermostatically controlled radiators and the whole house is kept warm with a wood burning stove and / or central heating. You are welcome to have your breakfast outside in the garden weather permitting. We are a working farm with cattle, calves and ponies and have two dogs who love visitors. Lola the black labrador and Evie the jack russell. We encourage guests to ask for tips and advice as we have lived in the area for many years and have an intimate and involved knowledge of this special and unique place which is now a national park. We have leaflets, books and information about the area and its many visitor attractions - but trust us the best ones are free - just exploring and walking in the forest with the animals and wildlife nearby is a very special experience. Newbridge is a quiet, pretty village located on the very northwest edge of the New Forest. It is set out along a no through road so we see very little traffic and it comprises of about twenty houses in total. If you are into star gazing it is blessed with one lonely street light and on a clear night is a maze of stars. We have many excellent pubs and restaurants for you to enjoy - catering for all tastes and budgets and are happy to give you the tips we have and have learnt from recents guest visits. Checkout the guidebook under guest resources for a few local pubs and restaurants that we recommend We do not have any public transport in or near the village but are close to the motorway system and excellent access to the New Forest. We have extra car parking space for guests but please note the house driveway has a narrow access into the property so access with care. We are near to Southampton for ferries to the Isle of Wight and cruise ships to many destinations and the airport is close for onward travel to many european cities ( aircraft are not permitted to fly over the national park so we maintain our tranquility). If you travel down by train we recommend travelling to Brockenhurst and hiring bikes from the westbound station yard - Newbridge is about an hours leisurely cycle ride from the station. You are welcome to bring your walking boots, wellies, outdoor gear and bikes to explore the area. We have a secure barn if needed to store bikes.
