Beautifully renovated Stable House set in woodlands and fields close to a river with easy access to fantastic attractions for all the family in Northumberland. Newcastle and County Durham. This thoughtfully styled Stable House and garden has spectacular views of National Trust Gibside with wild swimming, fishing, cycleways and endless walks just beyond the gate. One of 4 dwellings on a former 18th century farm, the stylish Stable House boasts a large fully-equipped kitchen dining room leading to the patio for alfresco dining and a garden for relaxing and play. The south-facing lounge with its 5m span of glazed windows and sliding door offer spectacular views through the courtyard to the woodland of the National Trust estate. For a good nights sleep, the House offers a spacious ensuite master bedroom styled with oak furniture and kingsize bed, a second bedroom with super kingsize bed and Harris mattresses (which can be separated into twin) and a third bedroom with Laura Ashley 'Emily' single beds. All beds prepared with quality duvets, pillows and cotton linens. These two rooms share the second bathroom with an L-shaped bath & shower. The utility room houses the washing machine and separate dryer and storage cupboards. Just off the A1 along the A696 the Stable House is 2 miles to the local Village, 8 miles to Newcastle, 15 miles to Durham, 17 miles to the Sea, 17 miles to Hexham, 90 to Keswick and 120 miles to Edinburgh. Closer to home we are 200m from the Derwent River, next to the Derwent Walk and the C2C cycle route. The River is perfect for wild swimming and fly-fishing (day permits available). The surrounding countryside has many beauty spots for walking, running, cycling and swimming. Within walking distance the village has a cafe, small Tesco’s and Boots, a hairdresser, beautician, florist, newsagent, fish & chip shop and micro pub. A short walk along the Derwent Walk brings you to the Derwent Park with playing fields, riverside picnic areas and kids playgrounds. The expansive grounds of National Trust Gibside offers a tea shop and programme of events/activities throughout the year. In addition to a number of National Trust properties within easy reach there is the amazing Beamish Museum, Hadrian’s Wall, Kielder Reservoir & Observatory which is a designated Dark Sky and the famed Castles along the Northumbrian coastal route - all making for enjoyable days out. Creating a special space for our guests is an important part of what we offer and we respect their privacy. From time to time you may see us in the shared spaces and I'm always happy to answer any questions or offer suggestions on places to visit and local walks or recommendations of places to eat.
