The Garden Cottage is located on a quiet street in the pretty village of Seaview, just 15 minutes from Port Elizabeth city. The house has 4 Bedrooms and can Sleeps up to 8 adults and 2 kiddies (sleeper couch can be provided) Your children are always welcome: if you require a high chair, crib or have any extra requirements please let us know in advance The house is equipped with everything you should need including fine 100% Cotton linen and bath towels. One of your hosts, Ros, lives next door in a home in front of the cottage. The cottage is detached from her home. All kitchen utensils and pots, pans, etc are provided. OUTSIDE + PARKING Small private garden set amongst well established trees. Large trees provide total privacy on 2 sides of the cottage, from all other angles it's all about the big blue sea! Off street, undercover parking for 1 medium / large or 2 small vehicles. Extra off street parking is available on our neighbouring property, with access to the cottage via a side gate Our home is situated in arguably PE’s safest suburb. We are extremely fortunate to live in such a safe area, but the house has all the usual features of a South African home: burglar bars, alarm with beams, all linked to our local private security company. We hope this gives you peace of mind when booking one of our homes :) This is Africa! Should any load shedding be experienced our homes are equipped with small back up battery systems which run your TV, wi fi and lights. In the event of any interruption to water we have a filtered rain water system which allows us to store and pump water into the house. The swimming gullies are safe, and we can advise you on the best time to swim and explore. This part of the coastline is home to an abundance of bird life, fish, otters, whales, and dolphins. Pods of dolphins swimming past are an almost daily occurrence and a sight not to be missed. Fees: Service fee is not a cleaning fee - it is the fee Airbnb charges to use their site. You can walk around alone or as part of a group, enjoying the village along with those of us who live and work here :) This part of the coastline is home to an abundance of bird life, fish, otters, whales, and dolphins. Pods of dolphins swimming past are an almost daily occurrence (did you know that Port Elizabeth is the bottlenose dolphin capital of the WORLD?) and a sight not to be missed. In the winter the bay is home to an ever increasing number of migrating Southern Right and Humpback whales, a truly spectacular sight! The migrating whales are passing right by our homes as part of a 12000km journey, which culminates in them returning with their calves. There are not many places on earth where you can view this beautiful migration, but in Seaview you can do it over breakfast :) The village of Seaview is located on the outskirts of Port Elizabeth, just a 12 minute drive from the edge of the city. Seaview is popular with locals and visitors alike due to its friendly and relaxed atmosphere, stunning views, and its proximity to 4 sandy, unspoilt beaches. Boats depart from Harbour. 30 min drive. Raggy Charters operates all year and is ranked number 1 on Trip Advisor for Tours in Port Elizabeth. Kragga Kamma Game Reserve is only 15 minutes away, gorgeous private reserve with cheetah and rhino as well as all the other favorites, zebra, giraffe, etc Addo Elephant Park is a 45 minute drive from the house. The most fantastic national park teeming with elephant and other wildlife, including lion. Extremely affordable as Addo is a national park vs privately run reserve. Pumba and Shamwari private reserves are both about an hour away and are considered among South Africa's best reserves. Maitlands dunes are a must see when visiting PE - climb to the top for you very own selfie. Less than 5 min drive. Sardinia Bay beach - on a beautiful day you may be mistaken for thinking you are on your own private island. Arguably the Eastern Capes most beautiful beach :) A car is essential when traveling in the Eastern Cape of South Africa due to a limited public transport system. Uber is available. One of your hosts, Ros, lives next door in the house in front of the cottage. The cottage is not attached to her own, it is a detached, private property with its own entrances and fenced in garden. It is set in the grounds of a large Seaview property, and has been built with your privacy in mind. It is fully fenced off from the main house and is surrounded by large, well established trees. Access is via your own private driveway and electric gate. Off street, undercover parking for 1 medium/large or 2 small vehicles. Rates in season are for a full house, up to 8 adults and 2 kiddies sharing.
