The Buzzardry, Luxury Woodland Treehouse Retreat
Come away to beautiful East Sussex to experience a unique stay in The Buzzardry. This stunning structure will not disappoint – from the luxurious copper bathtub with exquisite views over woodland grounds to the extravagant beamed ceilings that protrude through the building, this magnificent treehouse offers unparalleled style and luxury. With full facilities available, including two en-suite bathrooms with showers, a fully equipped kitchen, a barbecue and drinks deck at the front. This fantastic 2-bedroom treehouse is generously spaced for you to fully enjoy the lofty environs. Climb up the spiral staircase and across the walkway to find a delightful decked terrace; a perfect place for balmy evenings in the treetops. The Buzzardry sleeps 4 people in 2 bedrooms (which can either be used as 2 doubles or 1 double and 1 twin), each room has its own ensuite shower room. The master bedroom also has a luxurious copper bath with views over the woodland. The open plan living area and kitchen has all mod cons; oven, induction hob, fridge, dishwasher, microwave, kettle and sink. There is a dining area for four, and a comfortable seating area which includes a TV and woodburner (wood provided) to make things extra cosy in the winter months. There is also underfloor heating throughout the treehouse. We are plumbed in and on grid with broadband available. Double glass doors give you access to the open plan circular living area, with gorgeous views over the woodlands from each angled window. The lounge includes comfortable seating, a TV and a cosy wood-burning stove, which despite the property's mod cons, provides heating with the old-fashioned way for this well-insulated space, as well as underfloor heating to keep your toes toasty. There is also a dining area for four, with views through large windows and glass doors for the feeling of al fresco dining, a small kitchen complete with oven, hob, microwave, kettle and sink. To the right is a super king-sized bedroom which can also be used as a twin room and is so spacious it comes with wardrobe space and a beautiful morning view of leafy light. The jewel in this cedar crown is the master bedroom, which fans out into its own spherical space, containing a king-sized bed, wardrobe space, and an opulent copper bath tub. This room is not just metres above the ground, it's miles above other self-catering accommodation - this is treehouse chic. Both bedrooms are beautifully appointed with their own en-suite bathrooms. Outside is a spacious deck, where you can look over the lakes into the gardens and fields beyond. It has a table and chairs for outdoor dining, and a gas BBQ. The lake gardens are available for you to enjoy, as is the tennis court in the grounds of Marklye. You will have access to the entire treehouse, as well as access to the grounds. Once here you are free to roam in the lake gardens, the surrounding woods or play a game of tennis on the court in the grounds. The treehouse manager will be available to contact if you need anything once your are checked in. Details will be sent with your arrival and check-in details. The Treehouse is in walking distance (500m) of Rushlake Green, a picture perfect East Sussex village, with its own shop and pub. There are numerous other excellent pubs in walking distance. We are well situated for the South Downs National Park, Glydnebourne, Batemans, Bodiam Castle, the Sussex Coast, 1066 country and everything else that Sussex (and Kent) have to offer and we are only 60 miles from central London. Sussex is a popular destination for high-end self-catering holidays, and this bucolic corner of East Sussex is no exception. Perched on the edge of High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it's only 12 miles to the newest National Park of the South Downs, meaning that this area is jam-packed with hiking trails, biking tracks, fresh air and birdsong - this holiday could be seriously good for your wellbeing. For literary fans, Bateman's House, the 17th-century home of Rudyard Kipling and his wife Carrie is a mere few miles from The Buzzardry tucked into the woodland of the Weald. The National Trust run house also boasts fantastic walled gardens and a top-notch tea room. If you're after something a little more substantial, then walk through the gardens to the award-winning Horse and Groom, built on Rushlake Green's village green in 1605, which now wows visitors with its chocolate box, flower-framed exterior and its reputation for locally sourced, high quality and downright yummy dinners and Sunday lunches. You're only 36 minutes' drive from the seaside if you head straight down to popular resort town of Eastbourne and the highest chalk sea cliff in the UK at Beachy Head. And if you can't resist the lure of what's beyond the English Channel, then you're less than 80 minutes from the Channel Tunnel - bon voyage! We do think, however, that you'll want to stay close to your cosy and luxurious nest, with a glass of something gorgeous and a lakeside view that you'll never want to stop staring at. Please note that although this property welcomes children, we advise parents that the treehouse is high in the air and advise vigilance when staying here with youngsters.
