Centrally located in the fantastic village of Gainford which is set on the banks of the River Tees. The Nook is a beautifully appointed modern and bright two bedroom apartment, full of charm and character which overlooks the village. The apartment shares a Victorian building with its sister apartment, The Loft, and the Village shop. Opposite is the warm and friendly village pub, The Cross Keys, and 200 yards away is the village green with off road parking provided in the car park opposite. Central to the property is the open plan lounge with beautiful period fireplace, period coving and tall windows that allow in lots of light. The kitchen is fully appointed with a Hob, Oven, Dishwasher, Washer/dryer, & Fridge Freezer. The apartment has two double bedrooms with fresh linen for your stay and there is a travel cot available. The property is centrally heated. Broadband internet Wi-fi is included, TV, Nintendo Wii, board games, toys for the children and travel essentials including tea, coffee, biscuits, shampoo and shower gel for every stay. All parts of the space are available to guests as they will have the entire aprtment to themselves. We'll be on hand to answer any questions you might have about your stay or the property. Gainford is an historic village with a beautiful green, two churches, & with charming riverside walks along the River Tees that forms part of the Teesdale way. Opposite the flat is the Cross Keys pub if you wish to have a quick drink during the day or settle in for the evening for a few more. The historic Market Town of Barnard Castle is 7 miles away, where you will find the Bowes Museum and castle ruins, and nearby is Raby Castle with its beautiful grounds and large Deer herd. There are several excellent places to eat in the vicinity such as The Bridgewater Arms at Winston (2 miles away), The Fox Hole at Piercebridge (3 miles away) and the Michelin starred Raby Hunt at Summerhouses (4 miles away). Gainford is the ideal location to strike out further afield across the North East being close to major road links such as the A1, including the City of Durham with its Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
