B&B Wachtpost 29, real gem in the middle of nature

What was once a train track from Boxtel to Wesel has now become a beautiful walking trail through the natural wealth surrounding Houtvennen. Our guest house stands dead centre in this area! We call it a B&B because we serve a royal breakfast after every night of your stay. Simultaneously, it’s a magnificent vacation home with complete privacy in an environment where you can go for a walk, go cycling, but also just relax. One of our guests called it “A real gem”. And that’s a fact. The guest house stands next to our “Guard post 29”, between marshes and along the abandoned railway. A perfect refuge for cycling (for which you can also rent a couple bikes from us), walking, or if you like birds, deer, forests and/or mushrooms. But it’s also a great spot if you just want to relax. Plus: you’re allowed to have your dog(s) tag along! The residence has two floors. The ground floor has been renovated late 2019/ early 2020. See pictures for the result. The “master bedroom” is found on the ground floor, next to the spacious bathroom with walk-in shower. On the second floor you’ll find the second bedroom and a half-open attic with comfortable sleeping couch. The ground floor also has a living room, open kitchen with dining table, a playing room with table football, and the lavatory. (Additionally, we have a 2-person bedroom with its own bathroom in the guard post itself. You can find it in the second advertisement registered under our name, titled “kamer in de natuur”. This extra room allows for a total of 8 lodgers.) A two-person stay costs 80 euros per night. We are happy to negotiate a special prize for whole families or groups of friends (5 or 6 persons). Every overnight stay includes a luxurious breakfast including freshly baked bread, an egg, home-made jams, and freshly squeezed orange juice. Het vakantiehuis heeft twee verdiepingen. Op de bovenverdieping vind je de tweede slaapkamer en een halfopen zolder met comfortabele slaapbank. Op de begane grond vind je ook de zitkamer, open keuken met eettafel, een speelkamer met tafelvoetbalspel en het toilet. (Daarnaast hebben wij een tweepersoonskamer met eigen opgang en badkamer in de wachtpost zelf. Deze vind je als tweede advertentie onder onze naam, titel: kamer in de natuur. In totaal kun je dus met 8 personen bij ons terecht als je wilt.) Kosten bedragen voor twee personen 80 euro per nacht. We bieden met plezier een speciaal tarief voor je als je met je hele gezin, familie of vriendengroep wil komen (bij 5 of 6 personen), in overleg. Bij ons is elke overnachting inclusief een uitgebreid ontbijt met o.a. zelfgebakken brood, eitje, zelfgemaakte jammetjes en verse jus. All rooms are found in the same building, which is for your use only, containing a living room, open kitchen with dining table, shower, lavatory and playing room with table football. And of course you’ll have access to our lovely garden, with multiple spots to sit and relax, a large trampoline and a chicken coop. We respect your privacy but we’re always in for a chat. We live in a beautiful nature reserve located at the edge of the Maashorst, with walking trails, forests and marches with frogs and salamanders. Scoop nets are present 😉 With a bit of luck you might even see roe deer around the house in the morning or evening. We can pick you up in Uden bus station. You can rent a bike with us.
