Dogs welcome ... Holidays with animal behavior therapists! The pretty 45m² apartment is on the ground floor of a house on a slope in the small village of Schöna, 8km from Bad Schandau, 200m from the forest. Except for windows and doors, only natural materials were used. It is heated with a clay oven, which can also be used for cooking. In addition, an electric 2-plate hob is available. The living room is very bright and cozy due to the two windows. There is also the large clay oven, which is fired in the neighboring kitchen and on which you can also cook. The clay plaster inside guarantees the right climate in every season. We placed a lot of emphasis on comfort when furnishing. In the living room / bedroom there are two sofa beds with comfortable thick mattresses that can also be pushed together to form a double bed. The television as well as the blankets and pillows are stowed in the living room cabinet. We even used clay plaster in the bathroom. Because we wanted to do without chemical products and building materials, we provided the shower area with Tadelakt, an elaborate design made from Moroccan shell limestone, waterproof, permeable and mold-free. It is not cold in the bathroom either, thanks to infrared heating installed on the ceiling. You can find everything you need in the kitchen. There is a cozy dining area with a corner bench. My dearest will be at your side with words and deeds, because unfortunately I won't be there that often. As a local he is familiar with the area and knows the best hiking trails and restaurants. Our house stands on a 3000m² hillside property on the edge of the village near the forest. The distance to the neighborhood is therefore somewhat greater. The property is completely fenced. The Malerweg leads right past our front door. In addition, Schöna is the starting point for the Forststeig, which opened on April 28, 2018. In the village of Reinhardtsdorf there is the butcher's Häntzschel (1.4 km away - about 16-18 minutes on foot), which also operates a small supermarket with fresh bread early in the morning and a very tasty, inexpensive lunch menu. Please note that the shop closes at 5 p.m. Mon-Fri. On Saturday already at 10 a.m. There is no real bakery in the vicinity. You can buy baked goods in Bad Schandau. If you don't shy away from the trip because you want to eat real GDR rolls, you can buy them on Thürmsdorfer Straße at the Böhme bakery. There has recently been a raw milk machine and a potato machine in Reinhardtsdorf. For a big purchase, I recommend the supermarkets in Bad Schandau. The big Lidl in Bad Schandau is even open on Sundays and public holidays. The country inn Zirkelstein in the village can be reached on foot in 15 minutes. There you can feast extensively, or just drink something or eat an ice cream. Dogs are not allowed in the inn, but are welcome on the spacious terrace. In 30 minutes you can walk to the Fischer horse farm, which offers very nice chariot, carriage and sleigh rides. The Haflingers can also be rented for rides. You can reach the next bus stop in 5 minutes. Bus line 252 runs once an hour. Excursions to the national park, to Dresden, to the spa town of Bad Schandau (landing stage for steamers) or even to the Czech Republic are therefore no problem without a car. If you arrive by public transport, you must note that the last bus from Bad Schandau to Schöna leaves at 7:20 p.m. on weekdays and at 4:20 p.m. on weekends. If you can't arrive earlier and don't want to use a taxi, you should drive to the Krippen train station and plan the first one-hour hike through the Hirschgrund to the Grundweg (approx. 5km up). Please don't forget a torch in the dark season. You can park in our hillside parking lot or in the newly created parking lot in front of the house. My husband is happy to help with parking in both car parks. Otherwise in the community parking lot, which can be reached on foot in 10 minutes.
