Private house by the sea at Bournontas, Drossia Chalkida (Ground floor). This gorgeous seaside estate is built on a magnificent 4000sqm frontline property, 60 meters away from the sea. The location is 10min by car from Chalkida, and 70 km (50min drive) from Athens. The elegant house, is overlooking a beautiful beach and is surrounded by pine trees. The entire house enjoys a full view of the sea, with its beautiful sunsets and of mountain Dirfys across the Evia Gulf at Evia island. The ground floor layout consists of: - Living-room, with large fireplace and 2 built-in sofas, flat-screen TV. - Dining area, with a 8-person dining table. - Kitchen, fully equipped with dinnerware, cutlery, hob, oven, microwave oven, coffeemaker, fridge with freezer and washing-machine. - 3 bedrooms, one with double bed (plus two more beds one upon the other, ideal for a family), one with two single beds, and one with 3 single beds, all with spacious built-in closets. Two of them have private bathrooms with shower and toilet. - Air-conditioning (in bedrooms). - 1 bathroom, with shower/toilet. Additional useful information: -Free wifi. -Big beautiful garden with playground installation perfect for a family with children. -Outside sitting / dining area with stone built barbeque fully equipped. -Walking distance (3-minute drive) from St. Minas little church with its picturesque beach and famous fish-taverns. -The village of Drosia (10m walking distance / 3-minute drive) offers many services including pharmacy, supermarkets, various stores, ATM service. -The beautiful calm beach infront of the house is especially child friendly, with warm shallow water and 100% sand sea bottom. -Alykes beach (10-minute drive) offers very organized beach bars, sports activities and nightclubbing. Also the famous Gas-club (nightclub) is 15 minutes away by car. -The nearby city of Chalkida (10-minute drive) is a beautiful coastline city with a famous promenade packed with bars and restaurants. Also Chalkida offers bus and train service to Athens and a big hospital. Sightseeing: In Evia island one can see the Euripus Strait, which unifies the Evia island (Chalkida) with the continent (where Drossia village is located) and is famous for a natural phenomenon: In Euripus Strait you can watch the water going downwards for 6 hours and upwards for the next six hours and so on (flood and ebb-tide). The philosopher Aristotle lived the last part of his life in Chalkida and died there. It is said that he fell in Euripus and was drowned because he could not explain the phenomenon, but this is not scientifically documented. You can visit the Archaeological and the Byzantine Museums in Chalkida, the ancient theatre and Archaeological Museum in Eretria (in Evia, 30 minutes by car) with the famous little Dreams Island. Moreover Evia has also a lot of beautiful little villages, some of them on mount Dirfys. In the continent, you can visit the newly restored Archaeological Museum of Thiva, a famous city-state of Ancient Greece after Athens and Sparta. Also the Monastery of Osios Loucas is a monument of the Byzantine era (one hour by car). The famous archaeological site of Delphi (1 1/ 2 hours by car), a monument of global cultural heritage and the traditional village Arachova are must destinations of course. Mount Parnassos is also worth visiting with its very well equipped skiing area for winter skiing. The whole area is very vivid through the day and gets peaceful during the night. Sometimes groups of people stay late at the beach but not disrurbing There are busus and trains from Chalkida to Athens. Also a bus from Chalkida to Drossia and taxis available on call.
