Lilac Cottage at Northfield Farm is idyllically situated in a peaceful, rural location. This is a working arable farm, in an area of outstanding natural beauty and half a mile down a private driveway. There are some fantastic countryside walks on the doorstep along with beaches & wildlife marshes close by. Aviation & history enthusiasts are also well catered for. Something for everyone! We have hosted guests for over 20 years many of whom return regularly. Refreshing for your mind and body! Lilac cottage is one of a pair of semi-detached holiday cottages, built in the early 1900s. The cottage has an open fire in its cosy sitting room, very welcoming after a full day's exploring. It has its own garden and surrounded by open fields with access for walking and other countryside pursuits, well away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Parking for 2 cars is available alongside the property and own transport is a must to take full advantage of everywhere this area has to offer! Please note, this property is not suitable for wheelchair users. Lilac Cottage is situated down a private driveway on a working arable farm and only 3 miles away from the attractive market town of Spilsby where you can find all your day to day requirements. Set in a quiet unspoilt area of the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds, with the historic market towns of Spilsby & Horncastle nearby, Lilac Cottage really is the place to "get away from it all and totally relax. You can find beaches and marshes less than an hour’s drive away and the surrounding area is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts. Whilst we are rurally located, we are only a short distance, some 16 miles away, from our east coast resorts of Skegness, Mablethorpe and the quaint seaside town of Sutton on Sea. We have the historic City of Lincoln with its magnificent Cathedral only 30 miles away, a real jewel in England’s crown. We have a horse-riding centre nearby and excellent golf courses including The National Golf Centre in the beautiful village of Woodhall Spa approximately 14 miles away. Other places of local interest include the race track at Cadwell Park near Louth 13miles away and the Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby only 4 miles away and the only place where you can see an “almost flying” Lancaster Bomber! You can still see the only remaining airworthy Lancaster in Britain at the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in Coningsby only 11 miles away.
