This pretty garden room, with private entrance, is attached to Ropewalk Cottage which is tucked away in the medieval village of Alfriston in the Cuckmere Valley. Its perfect for guests wanting a peaceful break, visitors to Glyndebourne or walkers/cyclists to rest after a long day on the South Downs. It is only 10 mins drive to the beautiful beach at Seaford. There is a brilliant Village shop and oldy worldy pubs just 2 minutes walk away! The room can be booked on its own or in conjunction with "Whatknot" the unique carriage conversion. Please see separate listing. It has its own entrance which is separate from the main house. Entry is by key safe. Parking is on the drive. There is a comfortable double bed, TV/DVD, WiFi, mini fridge and ensuite bathroom with bath and shower. Breakfast items are provided in the room/fridge along with tea/coffee/toast making facilities. Access is by key safe. I live in the main house but may not be around during your stay. I will be contactable by phone or text. If I'm around I won't bother you but please ask if you need anything. Alfriston is a medieval village. It has the first ever National Trust property, The Clergy House. St Andrew's Church is 13th century and is known as The Cathedral of the Downs. There are a variety of shops, ancient pubs and a marvellous Village Grocery and Deli. Set in the Cuckmere Valley, the Village is sounded by fantastic countryside and is only 10 mins to the superb beach at Seaford. It takes approximately 10 mins to get to Glyndebourne, 20 mins to Eastbourne or Lewes and 30 mins to Brighton. There is a bus service through the Village and the nearest train station is Berwick which is 2 miles away. Due to the coronavirus, extra steps are being taken to clean and sanitise the areas. Special attention is paid to frequently touched surfaces between bookings.
