Quiet south facing double room, with outstanding view, within the Peak District National Park. Get up when you want! Anytime breakfast of: tea/fresh coffee, muesli, toast (homemade bread), jam, honey. Very comfortable double bed (memory foam mattress). Drawers, hangers. All white cotton linen and towels. Stunning countryside view. Good wireless internet, throughout the house and garden (20Mbps). Shared patio, dining room, lounge. Former Lead miners cottage, on 3 floors. BATHROOM/TOILET, IS ON THE GROUND FLOOR. UNSUITABLE IF YOU FIND STAIRS DIFFICULT. You will be given your own key upon arrival. You are not restricted to you room! I want you to enjoy your stay. Feel free to use the lounge and dining room. I have Netflix, if you fancy a movie etc. Feel free to use the patio and help yourself to tea and coffee from the kitchen. I enjoy interacting with my guests but I'm very sensitive to the fact that some guest want space. Wensley is a hamlet in Derbyshire, England. It is located 3 miles (4.8 km) from Matlock, on the B5057. Chatsworth is 17 minutes drive away. Haddon Hall 20 minutes. Wensley is rather unique and is one of only a handful of Derbyshire villages whose names have Pagan origins. The village takes its name from Woden, the Norse God of War and there has been a settlement here since pre-Anglo-Saxon times. This `Sacred Grove of Wodan` is described in the Domesday Book of 1086 as `Wodnesleie`. It was known as `Weddenesley` in 1240, `Wedunsleye` in 1330, and finally recorded as Wensley in 1446 The villagers in Wensley were employed in the lead mining industry in the fields around the village in the 18th and 19th century. Situated in the Peak National Park, it is surrounded by rolling countryside. A great area for walkers and cyclists, or to simply relax in the quiet sunshine (sunshine not guaranteed ;>) (Website hidden by Airbnb) There is a bus service that runs into Matlock, Bakewell and Chatsworth. Car hire available Matlock (Website hidden by Airbnb) I have a friendly dog. I have ionisers and hepa air purifiers for allergy suffers.
