This wonderful building, started in the 60’s by Edward Barnsley, and was finished more recently and still remains in the family. It stands in the grounds of The Bee House, where poet Edward Thomas wrote many of his poems. The garden falls straight into the South Downs Hangars, with direct access to fantastic woodland walks with spectacular views, whilst minimal light pollution makes the night skies perfect for star-gazing. You can now hire a hot tub spa, please let me know before your stay. The Folly comprises of an open plan living and kitchen area. In the living room there is a sofa bed that can be used as a double if needed. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bedroom has a double bed. The wet room has a shower, sink and toilet. You can now hire a hot tub spa (£20 per night ), (not available between November until the beginning of May), for your own private use. Please let me know if you want to hire it before your stay. Thank you. Guest have their own private access and entrance. There is also ample parking. Access is across grass and down steps. Please be aware that you have to walk across slopping lawns to get to the Folly. I suggest that wet-weather footwear be worn during the winter months. We are in a Dark Skies area, so there are no street lights. So I recommend that guests try to arrive before dark. You have full use private use of the area surrounding the Folly. We are available if needed. The Folly sits in the garden of The Bee House. Surrounded by woods which are part of the South Downs. There are many great walks that can lead to many great pubs. Our closest being The Trooper followed by The Pub With No Name. Froxfield village is also known as Little Switzerland. We are the highest village in Hampshire. Some mornings you can wake up and be above the clouds! Everyone who has stayed at The Folly regardless of the weather have been mesmerised by the view. There is no public service transport available in this area. Ideally arrive by car or train. Then enjoy long walks or feel free to use the bikes that are here for our guests. Arrangements can be made to collect you from Petersfield station if possible. There are many family pieces of Edward Barnsley furniture in the Folly for you to enjoy. Bikes are available for guests to use. Along with maps and binoculars to watch the wildlife. For special occasions e.g. birthdays, anniversaries we can provide locally sourced food packs, or any other special arrival surprise. Electric bikes can be arranged for hire. Yoga, meditation and reflexology can be arranged. You can now hire a hot tub spa, please let me know before you arrive.
