Rivendell: Tranquility and Ocean View in Umkomaas

Experience luxury tranquility. The house is located on a quiet street, just a short stroll from the golf course. It is very well equipped with everything you could need to be fully self-sufficient. This private detached house is fully walled and secure with its own garden. It is extremely comfortable and relaxing, tastefully decorated for you to enjoy. There is a splash pool, a great outside entertainment area and a wonderful tropical garden often frequented by the local vervet monkeys. BLISS. The recently renovated house provides 2 air-conditioned bedrooms and a cottage which sleeps two. All three sleeping quarters have their own en-suite bathrooms. (The cottage contains 2 single beds, which are easily moved together to create a king sized bed. It has its own sitting room and bathroom with fridge and tea making/coffee making facilities. This provides enough privacy for two members of your party.) The large lounge with TV, pool table and fireplace opens onto the patio decks to allow you to fully enjoy the wonderful sea view and great climate. Our guests love the covered deck area where they are able to relax in the splash pool or just to have a seat and take in the lovely sea views. For the Foodies, the a fully equipped, modern kitchen allows you to prepare your most inspired and favorite meals as if you were in your own home. There is a proper pantry which will cater for the longest stays. The indoor dining room with its 8 seater table will cater for the whole family in style, but we find that al fresco dining at the large sleeper table under the patio is normally more the order of the day. We've also provided you with a cozy reading / working area and guest loo inside the main house. (But who really wants to work on vacation?) The fire pit area for your braai or sundowners with ample seating around the fire and the outdoor table has proven to be one of the most enjoyed areas of the house, especially during those lovely balmy evenings which the Hibiscus Coast is renowned for. There is a separate laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, ideal for longer stays and we can arrange for our cleaner to come in as required at a nominal additional rate paid to her directly. Guest have access to the Entire Property. There is more than enough safe parking inside the yard and away from the street, so your car and trailer is perfectly safe behind the gate. Walking to the beach, diving charters, restaurants and golf course is entirely possible and safe - any of these can be walked in around 10-15 minutes, which is just enough to get the blood circulating nicely without feeling like the long walk to freedom. We do not live on the premises, because we understand that your privacy is key to enjoying your vacation. We are, however, available telephonically to assist in case of any emergencies or problems. You have the entire property to yourselves for the duration of your stay. The caretaker, Chantell, lives close by if any help is required. You will receive her mobile number when she assists with check in and it is written in the info card in the kitchen. In case she is not available please call Werner on his mobile number. Umkomaas is well known for its excellent Scuba Diving, Golfing and Deep Sea Fishing. It also offers a chance to witness and dive during the annual Sardine Run, better known as "The Greatest Shoal on Earth", with the accompanying fishing for gamefish. It is a fairly quiet town with friendly locals, ideal to come and relax, yet to be close enough to sufficient action and activities to keep everyone entertained. The nearest shops are in the quaint village of Umkomaas, where there is a Spar supermarket and a few restaurants to enjoy. There are pharmacies in Umkomaas the easiest one is next door to the Spar. You will find that for a short stay you will probably not have to leave Umkomaas at all. It is a short walk of 10-15 minutes from the house to the seaside and only a few minutes drive to the well known swimming beach at Scottburgh. The Golf Clubhouse is within walking distance. We often go for a walk on the golf course as the house is virtually next to it. There is a shopping mall and numerous other shops and restaurants in Scottburgh about a 10 minute drive away (they have a Woolworth's Food, Food Lover's Market, a large Pick n Pay Supermarket and many more shops.) The real shopaholics can shop till they drop in the world class Galleria Mall in Amanzimtoti about 25 km away. This mall has it all for the shopping connoisseur. The nearest Hospital is the GJ Crooks Hospital in Scottburgh at 45, Galway Street. This is a Public Hospital so if you prefer to be make use of a private facility, you can easily get to the Netcare Kingsway Hospital at 607, Kingsway only about 23 kms away. Umkomaas and the nearby Scottburg and surrounds offer sufficient activities to keep the entire family occupied.
