Albert House
A stunning six bedroom grade II listed detached home, steeped in history and period features in the heart of lively Newmarket. Walking distance to local amenities and easy access to the A14 and A142. Albert House is a grade II listed building and the former home of racehorse trainer for Albert House Stables which used to adjoin the rear of the house in the mid 18th century. The house has undergone many alterations and improvements since this time and now provides spacious accommodation packed with period features. Set back from the road the house is hidden by mature trees and walled enclosed garden providing a great level of privacy as well as off road parking. The garden is laid to lawn with a patio area and border planting. The house has a large living room and a second family room which is used as a dining room and a beautiful period oak kitchen. There is a separate Chippendale staircase leading to two good sized bedrooms one large single and one large double and both of which share a shower room with WC. There are a further two large bedrooms with ornately carved wardrobes, one of which has an ensuite shower room. Between these large doubles, you will also find a beautiful family bathroom with a roll top bath perfect for relaxing after a day at the races or exploring the countryside. Furthermore, there are two attic rooms with exposed beams, another double and single along with another bathroom with a roll top bath and a rare George Jennings tilting sink. Guests will be able to access all of the home apart from the cellar for safety reasons. I am happy to be contacted when needed. Newmarket is the home of horseracing. The location of Albert House, at the bottom of The Heath, is the ideal home for anyone wanting to visit the bloodstock sales at Tattersalls or coming for a day at the races. You will also be located within an easy travelling distance to the beautiful, historic city of Cambridge or Bury St Edmunds. There is also an abundance of quaint and lovely villages surrounding the area for long walks or a quiet drink and some food in a little village pub. The house has two private parking spots located on the driveway that can be used at all times for the duration of your stay. There is a chain across the drive as well to ensure the driveway is kept private to the guests and house at all times. The code to the padlock will be given upon check-in. There is a train station located in Newmarket, 1.3 miles away from the house which has links to Cambridge, Kings Cross and multiple cities across the UK. If you are travelling from overseas Stansted Airport is only 33 miles away and allows for very easy access to Newmarket via car or train. The house is set back from the road with a private enclosed garden however it is important to note that there is a public house next to the house's driveway. During bank holiday weekends, they stay open later than their normal opening hours so there may be noise a little later into the evening. The main part of the house that would be affected by this noise would be the double bedroom at the top of the Chippendale staircase.
