There is also a family bathroom and an open plan living space with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area around an electric woodburner-style stove. There is an enclosed decked veranda outside with furniture, off road parking for two cars and walks from the doorstep. Set in a beautiful location, Kingfisher Lodge is perfect for friend and families exploring Shropshire. Amenities: Gas central heating with electric stove. Gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, TV with basic Sky, DVD, CD/radio, selection of books, games and DVDs. Fuel and power inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Off road parking for 2 cars. Lockable bike storage. Front enclosed decked area with furniture. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop and pub 1 mile. Note: The lodge is accessed via six external steps. Note: No vans allowed within the site complex. Note: No children under 16. Note: No stag/hen or similar. Region: A E Houseman once wrote that Shropshire was "the quietest place under the sun" and today the county remains something of a rural idyll, recognised as one of the least crowded and most peaceful regions in England. Town: Bridgnorth is an interesting market town of two distinct halves separated by a red sandtone ridge - The High Town and the Low Town. The two halves are linked by meandering streets and steep steps, and the sheer funicular railway allows visitors to glimpse "the finest view in all my kingdom", as Charles I put it. There is a lively Saturday market which showcases the local fayre, and the River Severn which flows beneath the precipitous castle ruins offers many lovely walks. The steam and diesel engines of the Severn Valley Railway run between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster through pretty country stations. Bridgnorth is surrounded by an abundance of country parks, historic houses, interesting museums and chocolate box Shropshire villages, and also affords ease of access to the 10 museums of Ironbridge Gorge and the Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford. The vibrant destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton are within easy reach, and the surrounding area offers its visitor superb walking and cycling opportunities.
