Queenies Cottage thoughtfully restored in 2016 is a perfect mix of the old and new, retaining a sense of its history while providing the modern conveniences of underfloor heating, fitted kitchen and wood burner. Due to its historic age, the cottage is not suitable for children under 7 or those with limited mobility due to the steep spiral staircase. We welcome (max 2) dogs, there is a charge of £20 per dog. We can provide a dog crate for their use, please let us know in advance. Metfield is a small pretty village with a well-stocked shop, plenty of footpaths, and quiet lanes for you to explore. A welcome pack is left for your arrival. Sunday late departure 12 noon. The whole of cottage and its enclosed, private garden, Queenie's Cottage is set well back from the road with off road parking for three cars. Bikes can be parked and locked behind the back garden wall, well away from sight from the road. we welcome dogs to stay, max 2, and there is a small charge of 20 pounds for each dog . I arrange to try and meet my guests soon after they have arrived to check they are happy with everything. Metfield is a small pretty village, set on the edge of the Waveney Valley surrounded by a gently rolling landscape. There are many footpaths around the village and the quiet country lanes make cycling a joy. The community village shop is open every day and stocks a good range of local produce. There is a farmers market held in the village hall the first Saturday of the month and the newly refurbished village hall has a friendly new bar open Friday and Saturday evenings selling local beers. Please check Metfield village hall website for other events eg quiz night, music night. This is currently closed due to covid 19. Metfield is a quiet friendly village, a great place to escape the bustle of town and city. The market towns of Halesworth and Framlingham are both within easy reach and worth exploring. The coast is 25 mins away by car. A car is necessary to get about but you can collect quests from Mainline railway stations from Halesworth (to Lowestoft and London Liverpool Street) and from Diss (to London LS and Norwich). cycles can be hired, delivered and collected through s (Website hidden by Airbnb) A welcome pack is provided for your arrival. Soap and loo rolls are provided in the bathrooms. There are cleaning agents under the sink. The cottage is dog-friendly and we can provide a crate for your dog at night, please bring dog blankets and bowls. Due to the steep stairs and water feature, we do not allow children under 7 and the cottage may not be suitable for elderly guests or those with mobility needs. The cottage has some uneven floors and low ceilings due to its age.
